LOL. Thanks, Usha! 😊

I wish Dutta would read this too. Par gadhe ko sirf Naku sudhar sakti hai. 😳

And i don't think he knows, but a lot of ppl have been saying that here. So I'm wondering if it could be true! Hmmmm..

Wow ,another wonderful post Liz
Flawed diamonds👏 wow
I got into retrospective mode after reading your beautiful post
I too love flawed characters...its just essence of being human. Imperfection has a beauty in itself. There is a scope of improvement ,of transformation ,of groW*H.Perfection is boring.I read a quote somewhere
"The fact of storytelling hints at a fundamental human unease, hints at human imperfection. Where there is perfection there is no story to tell. "
Their flaws make this story so beautiful.I was thinking if Dutta did not have a melancholic painful past, would he be the same person he is.He would be regular normal guy, living life at more superficial level.
Or what if Nakku did not have that ugly identity, would she be what she is now?I think their pain has given that intensity ,that passion to their love story. If Dutta's life wasn't soooo dark, would he have appreciated that ray of light in form of Nakku to that extent.
As they say
" There is a crack, a crack in everything .That's how the light gets in."
The more a person has gone through pain, more he withdraws from the world and its superficial conduct...deeper he goes .Melancholy gives soul an opportunity to carve out a space where wisdom can take up residence.I think I would not have enjoyed the journey of their finding each other if they were just happy go lucky regular folks.

Few lines came in my head while i was reading your post...hope they make some sense here. these lines are from novel THE THORNBIRDS...

"There is a legend about a bird which sings just once in its life, more sweetly than any other creature on the face of the earth. From the moment it leaves the nest,it searches for a thorn tree and does not rest until it has found one. Then ,singing among the savage branches,it impales itself upon the longest sharpest spine. And ,dying it rises above itsown agony to out carol the lark and the nightingale.
One superlative song ,existence the price.
BUT THE WHOLE WORLD STILLS TO LISTEN,AND GOD IN HIS HEAVEN SMILES..FOR THE BEST IS ONLY BOUGHT AT THE COST OF GREAT PAIN...or so says the legend...."

I think more trials that put their love to test, deeper and more beautiful it will grow.Waiting for their journey to get across next and biggest and hopefully final trial.Hope am making some sense here

Wow, Sikkaisha, WOW! I'm floored! 👏👏👏

You've said it girl, whatever I left out! Yes, their flaws and imperfections make their story all the more passionate. For it's when you've known darkness that you learn to appreciate light. And pain is what makes life worthwhile. I say this from personal experience. I've always played safe. Stayed away from anything that could hurt me. But ultimately, it's when I got hurt and delved deep into darkness that I really learnt how beautiful life really is. To find yourself, you've got to lose yourself first. And Dutta's done that. Now is his journey towards finding himself.

Love every line in your reply. The bit about the thornbird, is it from the Oscar WIlde story, The Nightingale and the Rose? It's a beautiful and sad story. I think it explains what N and D are going through. I also think LTL has shades of The Little Mermaid, by Hans Christian Anderson. Naku's sacrifices, all the pain she underwent for Dutta and her silent love for him has always remind me of the mermaid.

All in all, beautiful post. Thanks for replying! ⭐️

I totally understand what u mean here ,have been through such dark phase myself which totally changed my way of thinking. That is why I can relate to Dutta's complexity.I can understand him. These lines are from novel The Thornbirds by author Colleen Mc Cullough.Very very true.
LTL is a fairytale for me.. It takes me away into a world of my own ,far away from reality for sometime

Same here, girl!! I am in love with stories. I watch anything that promises to be interesting. And that's how I chanced upon LTL. I read/watch/listen to stories coz i'm searching for something elusive. I'm searching for that perfect story. So far there have been very few instances where I've come close to finding it. I've found that story in the works of Tagore and Rand and Oscar Wilde and a few others. There has been no perfect movie for me, coz I don't think I've seen any one movie which has given me the perfect story. LTL has come closest to that which I dream of. From the anguish of the characters to the darkness that surrounds them, I love every single thing about this story. I love the way there is so much depth in each dialogue, in everything that is left unsaid between Dutta and Naku. While other shows have to explicitly tell us what's happening, LTL leaves a lot to our imagination. It allows us to interpret the situation. It gives us credit, especially when it comes to the characters. I don't know whose brainchild Dutta is, but God bless the person who came up with this character. The way he battles his inner demons and fights the darkness, it makes him a character worth loving. And yes, his scars are etched deep in his soul. Which is why the character of Naku is all the more special. She is his redemption. And her battle for him has been captured so beautifully. Dutta falling in love with the dark Naku has been so believable. When I watch this show, I feel that it is very much possible that there is really a Dutta out there who loves a dark and not so pretty Naku.

LTL is healing! From March to November, I've healed. And part of the credit goes to this show. There's this line by Longinus: The ultimate work of art is that which is sublime, that which elevates. And LTL has been that for me. It has made me look into myself, and indirectly helped me fight my depression. That's why I think no show, no story can take LTL's place in my heart. I am in love with this story, heart and soul.

@ Liz: I agree with each and every word you have said.Healing is the word here .LTL has healed me too.I was biggest idealist turned to biggest cynic and had bottled my emotional side for sooo long and cut myself off from it.Sort of just like Dutta .
LTL has an old world charm ,it made me fall in love with love stories again. It reconnected me to my soul again and it gives me such tremendous dose of positive energy.Very true ...it is serene, positive ,elevating and divine....Just what I imagine love to be....
You know during that jungle track ,I was oblivious to everything around me ...LTL occupied my mind 24*7 and I never came to know how this show has become an integral part of my life.
I sooooo wanna know who conceptualized Dutta's character,I wanna know whose dream LTL was,I wanna hear his/her story behind carving Dutta's character with such care
+....bless that person for bringing this magic in our lives.
