I just saw the episode and I am blown away by how disappointed I am by this character. She is so not what I had in mind. You've pointed out most of what I've been thinking but it just irked me so much that a supposedly independent girl who lives on her own in London literally JUMPED at the first chance to stay with someone she didn't even know before the past five minutes. She comes in, her father's just died the night before, yet she's all "maa, bhai, didi" to everyone and she's all "I accept you, it's okay, I understand" nonsense?! I am sorry! Where is her turmoil?! Where is her angst?! Her father died - he is dead - no more. Yet she can't even spare more than a downward glance (right in the beginning when AS mentioned him) with respect to him?! WHAT kind of a father-daughter relationship is this? Dutta, who hadn't seen his father for 26 years and who actually despised the guy has managed to look more pained and distraught by his father's death than she has.
And KOI inhibition nahi. She JUST met this family - she just met these people and she met them under such painful circumstances, yet she prances around hugging virtually complete strangers and makes "friends" with them right away? Koi hesitation nahi?! Doesn't even wait to see if she can trust them - she has NO doubts about them?! No second thoughts? NO confusion? Everything's all sunshine and rainbows?
*sigh* I just cannot get over the fact that a supposedly "independent woman who lives alone abroad" is not in the least bit suspicious or careful around these new people - itni gullible kaise? How did she survive in London with this attitude?! And why isn't she in the least bit distraught over her father's death? Even if she knew that he had terminal cancer - even then! His death demands a little more than a moment of silence with lowered gaze from her.
It just does.
And I don't like her. At all. *suspicious muh*
Word to this! I also have a very *suspicious muh* when it comes to this character.
I LOVE the way you put the parts in bold. 👏
I just don't get why her whole point, her whole ROLE in this show, the whole basis of her character in the first place, i.e. being DP's daughter, wasn't more convincing!!
I mean even before this character makes any connection with any of the other members of the family, her first and main relationship was with her dad! That's her whole BASIS for even existing in the first place!!!So how can you not develop that aspect properly? That should be the very first priority IMO, when introducing her! She didn't even show a single ounce of grief for her dad's death!! How can you not show such an important aspect which pretty much DEFINES the character's existence in the first place, and then expect us to find the character believable? Do you know what I mean?
All this "introducing" her to the family members and all, shouldn't have even occurred to anyone yet! There should've been a billion questions/confusions, awkwardness, suspicions etc. before any of this happened!
And I'm surprised especially because usually this show goes really slow and gradually builds up on things. So why this sudden out of the blue character thrown in?
@ the bits in bold: EXACTLY! How can you introduce a character and not give ANY basis whatsoever to her? What is her motive? What exactly is her point even? Her past relationship with her dad wasn't convincing at all! And the 'future' bonds she was trying to make with the family all seemed fake! So what exactly is her point? She doesn't fit in anywhere! Too many loose ends with this character. I don't think it's been written well at all!
Seriously this girl just seemed to prance in not caring in the least about her past relationships/life and trying TOO hard to please her 'future' ones. So neither of the situations were convincing enough.
Only Baaji, Dutta and the three sisters seemed to have the right reactions to this girl. How can you trust/believe this random person who doesn't even look like she CARED that her dad just died? This is making no sense at all! :S
And yeah, this girl's acting didn't work for me either. I wasn't buying anything she was trying to portray. 👎🏼

She stressed , "I do not want anything", "I just want to meet my brother". What was the need for her to say "I dont want anything"?? Who said that she came for something?. Also if she just came to meet her bro, why did she tell AS that she had no place to go if she didnt accept her?.
Are the above facts just bloopers or an indication of some major deceit?. To me it seems there is more to Madhus character than whats apparent right now.
There are three possibilities,
1) She either came for revenge : This can again be because her father left her nothing in his will and she might have come to take it all back?.
2) She might not be Madhu at all : If AS is BH, then she might have gotten this fake Madhu to PN. Since she is the only one who knew abt Madhu's existence. Also the way she readily accepted Madhu, makes me believe that AS is definetly involved in it. May be because Baaji isnt falling for Roops and BH/Kala wanted to get someone better for the purpose?. Ek teer se do shikar types?.
3) Its just a blooper and she genuinely is Dutta's sister.

O yeah, I also think that line of her's, "I don't want anything" was suspicious. More like everything this chic did or said was suspicious! Yeah everything she said seemed contradictory! On one hand she says she came to meet her "Bhao" and all, and then she also plays the sympathy card stating that she has no where else to go? What exactly are we supposed to believe?
I too think everything points to her being fake. I think she might be pretending and AS might be in on it like you said.
And if it's just a blooper then it's a really huge one cuz isn't this character supposed to play a major role from here on? You can't just introduce an important character like that and give no basis to her characterization whatsoever. You can't expect the audience to connect to that can you? :S Even the cameos and bad guys have had better motives/characterizations!
I actually hope that she's fake or something. I think I would prefer that to having to tolerate this character on a long term basis. And that too such an important character. :S
P.S. what is BH? :S 😆
