What's up with doctors on serials?

In the handful or less of shows I've seen in the last few years, there are always memorable characters that pop up.

The occasional pandit, etc. AND THEN there is the doctor. Every show's got one at some point, and there's nothing weird in that.

However, why are the docs so out there? In scenes, they look like the most under-motivated, and even more scarily, incompetent people out there. Forget DP, the doctor looked like he needed to be hooked up to that defib machine that shocks the heart and tries to get it beating again.

At some point, I cringe and thank God that I have good doctors.

Like yesterday, the doctor coming in to see DP. No urgency really in his step--puts his stethoscope on to feel heart beat. Reasonable enough. But most doctors do it with a little more aplumb--like as if time is of the essence, and they can try to save the person. It was just so passive--these "accidental" doctors. Perhaps he was scared that if he screwed up, Dutta would have him hurt. Look on the bright side, at least you won't get sued! 😆😆
