Hey guys,

I know it's the middle of the fall and people are busy with school/college/work/etc. so Shabz and I decided to post a few reminders about some of the things we've been noticing around the forum. Most of us are pretty good about the general forum rules and believe me when I say that I speak for both Shabz and I, that makes work so much more easier for us. So thank you! Really!

But there are a couple of things that we'd like to suggest that everyone pay a little bit more attention to.

Spamming: Recently there's been an influx of spamming in all threads in the forum. Members are posting single "Thank you" posts instead of using the "Like" button. And the thread starters are replying to each "Thank you" post by quoting it in a separate post. That takes up pages in the thread and it makes it look untidy, not to mention that it makes the thread harder to maneuver due to all those pages filled with "Thank you/Welcome" posts.

Please remember to use the "Like' button if all you want to do is thank the member for the post. Healthy discussion is definitely encouraged (absolutely and completely! 😃) but "Thank you" posts do not generate any discussion, instead they just fill up pages and make the thread harder to access. And for the members who are replying to multiple one-liner posts or "Thank you" posts, please remember to use the @-feature.

For example, if you want to reply to Shabz (Dew-drop) in a thread you can type @Shabz: and then type the comment. And then in the same post, continue on with another member i.e. @member2: and type their comment. Using the @-feature you can reply to multiple members in the same thread making it easier for them to find your reply and also allow for new readers to go through your thread easily without having to browse through pages of one-liner posts/replies.

Double Posts:
This another thing that's somewhat prevalent on the forum. I understand that we're all excited by the episode and it's developments and that we all feel the need to discuss it in it's entirety. I mean believe me I know what it feel like to need to talk about the episode.. 😆 But what I ask of you is to first look through the first two to three pages of the forum to make sure that a similar thread on a topic has not been posted already. By posting two similar threads, the discussion gets divided and eventually repetitive. If we are talking about Dutta's shirt or Nakku's behavior then making multiple posts about it just makes the forum look unorganized and overwhelmed. One thread to discuss any topic, I feel, is all that's needed.

TellyChakkar Articles: Just to refresh everyone's memory, posting articles from TC is against IF rules because TC is in direct competition with IF. You can talk about what you read on some site, just as long as direct articles and sources are not posted. I've seen a lot of TC articles being posted on the forum, so hopefully this will serves as a needed reminder to prevent this. Any members that find a TC article being posted, please feel free to report the post and refrain from posting in the thread.

Plagiarism: Alright, this is a serious offense guys! Not just on IF but I'm sure even in the academic/professional environment, taking someone else's work and passing it off as your own without appropriate credit and permission is absolutely abhorred. Plagiarism has been seen on IF with members claiming other members' posts without due credit and permission. And also in creations - members have used other members' creations by cropping them and incorporating them in their own creation. Using someone else's creations without permission and credit is considered plagiarism. That is NOT allowed at all and offenders will be punished with warnings. If you find your creation or someone else's creation being plagiarized, please report it to us. Plagiarism is not a small offense and should not be overlooked or encouraged.

From now on, all threads (including Fanfics and VM threads) will be regularly monitored for spamming. Use of the @-feature is strongly recommended to reduce spamming. TC articles will be closed right away and plagiarism offenses will be dealt with severely.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post them here or PM Shabz or myself. 😃
