How did you land the role of Nakusha in Laagi Tujhse Lagan?
To play the character Nakusa I think it was my destiny. I had gone for the auditions and eventually when it ended I had got to know that I am doing the role. I could relate to the character and may be so I bagged it.
Were you apprehensive of playing an unattractive girl?
No, I think it is a very challenging role. At this age I am playing such a role which demands maturity, I think I am doing justice to it. If a role is challenging then it gives me immense satisfaction. I had no inhibitions about the no makeup look that I had to put in order to look unattractive as that was the demand of the role.
Is it difficult to essay the role of Nakusha? How much time did it take to wear Nakusha's make-up?
It is not difficult to play the role but the different shade that I have in my character makes it stand out. It does not at all take time to wear the make-up, but it takes time to remove the make-up. Well Nakusha is not different from me. I am like Nakusha. I love my family and I am a family person like her.
Did the success of serials like Bidaai, Saath Phere inspire you to take up this role?
No, Laagi Tujhse Lagan's storyline is completely different. Nakusha is a beautiful girl, who's made to look ugly due to the undue circumstances by her mother. So Nakusha is not like other dark-skinned girls instead she is truly beautiful who is made to look bad.
What's your idea of relaxation?
Being busy on the sets every day I actually look for time when I can relax and be chilled out. I love going to shopping like other girls and I love staying with my family. This gives me ultimate moment of relaxation.
Being a Delhi girl, was it difficult to lead a life in Mumbai?
Well I always believe in destiny and I think I am blessed. The shift to Mumbai was a very conscious decision. My professional commitment brought me here. I shifted to Mumbai with my parents, and started modelling here. I did couple of music videos and south Indian films. I can for sure say that staying with your family, life became easy but I always thank God that I am never out of work.
Is your next destination Bollywood?
Let's see. Well if anything good comes up, I will definitely take it up. But right now, I am very busy with Laagi Tujhse Lagan.
Off-screen how to describe Mahhi Vij?
I am conservative and hate going to parties. Family is and will always be my priority.
Mahhi so recently that you have been seeing someone tell us something about it.
I think it is too early to say anything about him now, just hope that all things fall in place. And yes the right time come for sure I will reveal the name. "
