I think the destruction of the room might be symbolic of the destruction of Dutta's "almost-marriage" and his married life. The fact that he remembers the old lady's words saying that he will never have kids, or find happiness with his wife makes me think that when he's destroying his room, he's destroying the hopes and dreams he had of a life with Supriya. A marriage bed and the decorations represent happiness and joy one finds after marriage but I think by tearing it all down, Dutta has shown that he has given up on the institution of marriage and wants to erase it from his life.
But I might be wrong since he does end up marrying Naku. So....yeah. I dunno. Maybe he marries her when completely wasted and has no memory of it later?
but he's having a very public wedding. so i dont think that will happen. though yes u might be right abt dutta completely giving up on the instituition of marriage...hence marrying someone to punish her would seem fine to him. so that wud mean apart from everything else naku will have naother task on her hand...make dutta beleive again in the instituition of marriage.
