Ekta has no plans to recall Dakshaben By: Shaheen Parkar September 30, 2005
CENTRE OF ATTRACTION: Dakshaben (Ketki Dave) with Savita (Apara Mehta and Gayatri (Komolika Guha Thakurta) at the Star Parivar Dandiya Dhoom
Ekta Kapoor is no mood, at least for the present, to let bygones be bygones with Ketki Dave. "Her presence at the Star Parivar Dandiya Dhoom (Star Plus's Navratri special show to be aired on Sunday) does not mean that Dakshaben is back in Kyunki," points out Kapoor.
Dave played the popular character of "ara ra" Dakshaben in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
Four years ago, the actress walked out of the Balaji drama after a showdown with Kapoor, when she was asked to mimic actress-anchor Shruti Ulfat.
Says Kapoor, "No, there are no plans to bring Dakshaben back in Kyunki. The Navratri show was for the channel and independently coordinated by SOL Events." The event was shot last Friday, at Sankraman Studios, Goregaon, which also had Jeetendra as part of the festivities.
BYGONES STILL REMAIN: Ekta Kapoor
Dave was invited
Dave, on the other hand, says, "I was invited for the event. I had an opportunity to dance after a long time and catch up with the Kyunki team."
The actress says what happened between Ekta and her "is so old now. Years have passed and we are all mature adults; it's better to forget."
Would she like to be back in Kyunki? "Of course I would, but I don't know how Dakshaben would fit into the serial post the generation leap," says Dave, who is seen in Bechara Big B (Zee Smile) and Ek Ghanta Comedy (Zee Smile), besides the Gujarati theatre scene.

Kapoor-Dave imbroglio
Happened on: July 9, 2001.
Reason: Shruti Ulfat, the anchor of Chalti Ka Naam Antakshari (Star Plus), had made a dig at Ekta Kapoor's brother Tusshar, about him changing the spelling of his name. Ekta had asked Dave to do a take-off on Ulfat in Kyunki.
Result: Dave found it unethical to spoof another actress; she felt it was extremely malicious and refused to do it. She quit Kyunki instead.
