Karan and Nandini loved each other and due circumstance, nandini went into a coma and tanya married Karan. And then when nandini came back she saw Karan and tanya and her daughter (bhoomi) happily living .... so she went away withou saying anything to any one....

then after twenty years....Karan meets nandini..and thats what is happening...now they are reunited again...

And about ur question why ekta seperates cute jodi, lemme tell u: if she doesnt do i, will the serial go on?😉

And she takes generation leap to increase characters, actors, and storylines...
