You guys need to move on. It's over. Smriti is gone and Gautami is settled in very well as Tulsi. It'd be ridiculous to bring Smriti back now. Besides what's the point? It's better to concentrate on the other characters anyway. Plus Gautami's restrained portrayal is far better than the over-the-top Tulsi of Smriti. She may have played the character from the start but somewhere along the line (before the 3 year leap) she lost it. She was playing Tulsi as if she were playing some sort of goddess in a mythological serial.
lmao no offence but u CANNOT compare the 2. smriti has been in kyunki for 7 years and gautami for what 3 months? u cannot compare them. and as for her being settled in she said in a article she will take leave if smriti returns. GOOOOOOOO SMRITI!!! WE WANT SMRITI!!
You need to read my post again. And read it calmly. I said Smriti lost hold of the character sometime around the 3 year leap (I'd say a little before). She went over-the-top and never returned. She was especially ridiculous after she returned to SN last year. She is supposed to be playing a nearly 70 year old woman. Instead she plays it like some cartoon. Very irritating. 😆
Please note: Smriti is an excellent actress but she lost hold of the character after 7 years. It's normal. That kind of time spent on one show tends to do that to you. Compare her clownish portrayal of Tulsi to her excellent acting in Virrudh for instance or the recently ended Thodi si Zameen..... Long ago Ekta had also cast her in another show where she fought against her in-laws over a rape case. I can't remember the name of the serial now but she was very good there. Kyunki just went on for too long and Smriti got lost in there. She was nothing like what she was back in Kyunki's early days. She had become a caricature of herself. Sad for such a brilliant actress. I still remember the scene when she broke down on realizing Mihir was dead and went into labour. Powerful scene. Alas that Smriti-Tulsi is no more. 😔
Gautami does not have the burden of 7 years on her shoulder. This is why it is so much better to have her fresh take on the character. She doesn't go over-the top, she is mostly restrained. This is because she started off playing a 70 year old and not a cartoon Goddess who started off in her 20's.
If Smriti does come back I hope she looks at Gautami's portrayal and looks back on what she did during the last couple of years and realizes her mistakes. Maybe she can do it again. 😊 I wouldn't hold my breath though. 🤔
