'Kyunki... was my loss!'
21 Jun, 2007 l 0000 hrs ISTlDEEPALI DHINGRA /TIMES NEWS NETWORK

Manoje Biddvai clears the air about his fall-out with Ekta Kapoor.
There are times when things seem to be going just right and they suddenly, they take a 180 degree turn and fall apart.
That was probably what happened to Manoje Biddvai a few months back, he was told that he is not a part of Kausautii Zindagi Kay and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi anymore.
Some sections of the media reported about Manoje alledging that it was done because there was some problem with his kundali! "When I look back at that time, I find it so funny. I mean, I never ever issued such a statement! It was completely blown out of proportion," he clarifies.
Manoje says that was he aware that in Kasautii..., his track was a short one anyways. "In Kyunkii... my character Abir's track was turning out to be completely negative and the production house and channel felt that my face does not suit a negative character. There was no right or wrong there and I was okay with the decision. But Kyunki... was my loss," he adds.
Manoje never got a chance to clear the air with Ekta Kapoor after that. "I think the whole issue had got blown up so much that it had left a mark on the situation," he adds. Given a chance, Manoje says that he would love to work with her production house again.
He might not be seen in any of the K serials but Manoje seems to have done fairly well for himself in the past couple of months. "I'm doing Doli Saja Ke and I've just made an entry in Meri Aawaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni as a wealthy yet simple guy who's totally in love with his girlfriend," he informs.
Apart from that, his film Rivaaz is all set to be screened at an international film festival and he's quite excited about it. "It's set in a village in the interiors of the country where the girls in the village are pimped by their own family members," he says. Manoje is also playing a gay character in a Hinglish film called The Other Side. "It's a simple and refreshing tale about a guy who's not sure about his sexuality. The role had a lot of scope for an actor and I totally jumped at the oppurtunity," he adds. With his recent marriage to actress Ravee Gupta, lady luck sure seems to have smiled on Manoje!
