On a humanitarian trip to Sri Lanka, Iraani will also talk business with a local television channel

Smriti Iraani
Now that her stint as Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is over (or on a break, as is the buzz), Smriti Z Iraani is travelling to Sri Lanka next month to meet her fans.

As a part of a project undertaken by local TV channel Sirasa TV (which airs the Sinhalese version of Kyunki) Smriti will participate in a humanitarian effort to donate homes to needy locals.

Smriti will be travelling to Colombo and Kandy and is excited about her visit.

"I will be there on July 28 and am looking forward to interacting with Sri Lankan fans.

I will be there as a part of Sirasa TV's anniversary celebrations."

Talking business

Apart from the good work and meeting with fans, Smriti will also be doing business. "I didn't know Kyunki was so popular in Sri Lanka.

Now, I plan to expand my business and get into serious talks with Sirasa TV for producing television content for them," she says.

Representing Smriti in the business deal will be Nimzia Najeeb, who recently won the Best Entrepreneur award in Sri Lanka.

"Nimzia is a really talented woman and I'm thrilled to have her with me. We will be discussing options for producing fiction and non-fiction shows for the channel," she adds.

Post her exit from Kyunki, Smriti has been flooded with calls and messages from all over the world. "Fans are angry, depressed, worried and there have been all sorts of reactions.

However, I need them to know that I haven't taken a break from work. I'm still shooting for my other two shows, Thodi Si Zameen and Virrudh," she says.

Adding that it's Ekta's decision to decide when she should return to Kyunki, Smriti says, "I worked on Kyunki for seven years without a break, so why would I want to disappoint my fans by leaving abruptly?

I'm not the creative head of the show. It was not my decision. Ekta is the only one who will decide when I will be needed back on the show."

That is way cool, I am a Sri Lankan toooooooooo but I live in UK. 😛

Do u guys know? Kyunki is very famous in Sri Lanka, most of them watch Kyunki. 👏 They also telecast KZK there, most of the people in Sri lanka love watching these dramas, like me. But the show in Sri lanka is far behind, like 2 or 3 years.

I wish I was there in Sri Lanka. 😭 😭 😭 I've got to tell my Friends there about this, they will be very exsited. 😉

I hope I will be able to watch Smriti going to Sri Lanka in Sirasa Channel (Sri Lanka) 😭 I'm so sure that they are gonna have a grand celebration, and I'm very sorry about me not being able to watch the program. 😭

Any way I'm very happy about her taking a visit to Sri Lanka. 😳

👏
