I'm a doctor in homeopathy. I did it because my parents wanted me to become a doctor and I wanted it too. I never knew that my passion would change.
After I finished my course I was I practised for seven months on internship. Then I came to Mumbai because I wanted a break. I asked my dad if I could go and see what's there in the acting field. I thought I would join acting school and if nothing works out then I would come back and do my medicine. While I was doing the acting course I got a lot of appreciation. I made some improvisations in the classes and people liked it. I called my dad up and asked him to please come and see what I was doing. I told him that if he found it interesting then I'd pursue it; otherwise I would go back with him.
He came and liked it so much that he pushed me to be an actor. God was very kind to me and within 15 days I signed my first movie Bhagat Singh. I met a guy called Raja. We were talking and I showed him a tape and he told me to come and meet his producer. I met him, he signed me and my career started.
It was destiny that I became an actor. My mother is a music professor. There is creativity in that as well as in the acting field so my interest was high.
I am still practicing homeopathy. I have studied a lot and was a good student. Many come to me and take my advice as a doctor. I give them medicine as well sometimes. I specialize in psychology so people, as well as my fellow actors, come and talk to me about problems.
But I don't want to get into medicine professionally. I've very happy with acting. After 3-4 years as an actor I have grown up and my passion has increased.
