In the aftermath: Stills from the particular scenes in Virrudh

There's something different to look forward to tonight, if you like watching Sony's Virrudh.

The primetime slot has seen several rapes occur (domestic or otherwise). In tonight's episode of Virrudh, however, the rape victim will try to kill the man who outraged her modesty.

The victim

Shalini, the victim, played by Zarina Wahab, will rise from the dinner table, holding a knife and move towards her rapist Dhirendra (Vikram Gokhale) but end up stabbing her own daughter Vasudha (Iraani)!

Talking about the scene, Iraani says, "The scene was shot in two takes. Zarinaji and I share a great rapport. Plus, she is a very seasoned actress. So, it wasn't really difficult."

And what happens after Vasudha is stabbed? "That propels Vasudha to see her father's true colours," she says.

And does she start hating her father after that? "That is the million-dollar question. I can't reveal that much without letting out the story," says Iraani.

Responding to reports in a section of the press that Sony has asked Virrudh to pull up its socks and register higher TRPs in the next four weeks, Iraani says, "I have not received any intimation in this regard.

Sony's creative head Sandiip Sikcand will be the best person to answer this."

With high drama involving Smriti's stabbing, the show is sure to get into a exciting phase for now.
