The writers of Smriti Irani's character Tulsi are working out ways to show her exit from the serial. One possibility is that they will show that she is being killed in the serial. But Smriti will remain in Kyunki for the next two weeks at least.
Responding to rumour that Kyunki's star was leaving the show, "I have heard from the production house that Smriti is leaving the show. We haven't decided what is going to happen with her character. There have been no discussions about it as of now so I don't know when she is leaving the show."
The scriptwriter does not feel that Tulsi's absence will hinder the show's popularity:
"There are many beautiful characters in the show so I don't think Tulsi's exit will make any difference. Damini and Ganga are also righteous. They too fight against injustice. It's unfair to say that Tulsi's exit will leave a void. No doubt Smriti's character is very powerful and she is surely an integral part of Kyunki but Tulsi will remain on the show through the talks and memories of the other characters. Even though her track will not be there, but she will remain in the show."
Nagpal is clueless as to why Smriti is leaving
"I don't know the reason why she is leaving the show. I'm going to be taking leave for a month so Balaji doesn't have to give me any reason for her exit as somebody else is going to write script. I only care for my script and the drama which I'm going to deal with in it. Why should I know the reason about her exit from the show?"
On the other hand, Balaji's Creative Head Nevidita Basu says: "We haven't planned anything and from Balaji's side I haven't heard anything about it. Smriti has not informed us about her exit. I'm not aware of any problem between Balaji and Smriti. Right now I'm handling the story normally incorporating Tulsi's character. I don't know what will happen with her character. If Smriti is really leaving the show it would be Ekta's decision on what happens to Tulsi."
Nevidita too is confident that even if Smriti does leave the show it will not decrease in popularity: "I don't think the show will do badly if Smriti leaves. Any single person in such a show is not important. The show will work well even if Smriti is not there. We have heard these rumors many times but she never left before. This time I don't know, let's see what happens."
Reports have been surfacing everywhere that Smriti Irani is leaving Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. It has been said for some time that Smriti is busy with her production company and shows and hardly has time to give to Balaji. Ekta and Smriti have reportedly been having problems regarding this issue.
Right now Kyunki's story revolves around Krishnatulsi's (Mouni Roy) rape case which took place at Holi. Tulsi and the entire Virani family come to know that Mayank (Rahoul Lohani) is the real culprit. Mayank is Damini (Riva Babbar) and Gautam's (Sumeet Sachdev) son. Krishnatulsi is Tulsi is foster daughter.
