Why Kamalika doesn’t want to quit Kyunki.

Considering the fame that the serial has got, Kamalika Guha-Thakurta isn't willing to give it up as yet

After enjoying immense popularity as Gayatri chachi Kamalika Guha-Thakurta isn't in any mood to change her image. The actor is way too happy with her gharelu role. We are just talking about the recently gone by Holi, when Camel decided to shed her inhibitions and image just for a day… actually for a week! "Even sati-saavitris itch to play the vamps sometimes. After all, we are constantly told, good girls go to heaven and bad girls go everywhere!" she laughs. "I don't know what got into me. We had to shoot a Holi sequence in KSBKBT, which was going to go on for a week before Holi. I was not really required to be there for all the days but on the first day, we went berserk and I ended up going to the set for the entire week. I even played Holi for the full day in my society," says Kamalika who has now contracted fever. Speaking about Karam Apna Apna, where her role was cut short, she says, "It was a great role, of Devika a tough business woman. But then as the TRPs started going down, they had to cut costs to a large extent, kya karein? KBC ruined this serial by shifting it from the prime time slot to 8 pm. I hope they bring back the character," says Kamalika, who confesses that "That is why I'll never leave KSBKBT till the time they do away the character. I often get asked whether have not got tired of playing chachi for the past six years, but I have truly not got tired of it. We actors, actually get uneasy if we don't see each other for a couple of days. Also, the role and the serial have been getting popularity of mythical proportions. As an actor, what I crave for is fame; so if this role is giving me that, how can I get tired of it?" questions Kamalika.
