there's a system of "rating" actors? gee, i didn't know. 😆
there's a big difference between ps and most of the other characters in the show -- he's not overly dramatic. maybe that doesn't fit in a drama. but there you have it. no one else is that muted. personally, i love it.
when lakshya cries, he doesn't flood the screen. when lakshya speaks, even in anger, he doesn't sound hysterical. everyone else is so highpitched. even if nothing really happens, i'm exhausted at the end of 30 minutes. with lakshya, i always get the picture - even the delicate little feelings in a twist of his lips. reminds me of when kutumb used to be well directed and edited, and hiten tejwani's expressions were so well captured. i wish they'd get the same team for the current ksbkbt show.
btw, his voice modulation rocks. i think ps uses that voice of his like a weapon. his voice is not powerful like iqbal khan's, but it's the next most effective voice on screen today. the only other person who comes close to doing that in the show is hiten - he's very clear in his voice modulation, although nowhere as honeyed. most of the time, i can hardly hear what mihir dadu says (and sometimes tulsi daadi too) for the amount of wheezing they put in. is that supposed to be showing old age? i dunno. it grates.
for the rest, what we see on screen is a mix of the script, direction, editing and backgroundsound. the script for lakshya has been very nice - he's sooo normal! i agree that some of the scenes have been weird - that smile when kt says i love you is one of them. that could've been bad direction. and for sure, the background sound, the editing was just as bad.
i'm dying to see the recent few episodes. i love the idea of lakshya telling kt that he would miss her - i'm dying to see how that was done.
