And just imagine, it was for this very son that he had gone so radically against the family some 20 years ago! I know he was with Karan at the time but Gautam's not the mild-mannered person who just lets things like this take a backseat. The old Gautam would have found a way to keep in touch with his son regularly, even if as an uncle.
In any case, don't you think Nakul resembles Gautam in many ways? The same temper, the same manner of jumping into conclusions, the same mask of showing how tough he is, even while being easily bitter and hurt. I think Gautam really knew what he was saying when he said 'I can understand how he feels' today.

yeah they have very similiar perosnalities. anger, conlcusions, just in your face argument.

OMG.....I was thinking exactly the same when i was watching that scene. Nakul has successfully inherited the 'Gautam Gene'.😃
I got the De Ja Vu Feeling While watching Nakul's reaction in that situation. Gautam used to behave in the exact same manner with Mihir and Tulsi. Nakul is similar to Gautam in many ways. I remember the days where Gautam used to reject the offer of working for Virani Industries and wanted to be on his own and was teaming up with his 'Aarti Mom' . Nakul is now doing the same and also siding with 'Trupti Mom'. Life does come to a full circle !!!!
However, the only difference is Gautam was a spoilt brat where as Nakul is not. And his anger and bitterness is due to his Non-wealthy state and not knowing the exact reason for their parents' separation and Saahil's incapability being the reason for their poor-Economic status.
Come to think of it, Gautam was much more rude and harsh than Nakul. Nakul is not even half as agressive as the young Gautam. He has a soft side to him as well, how sweet he is when he's with Joydeep, etc.
I just hope Tulsi and Mihir spill the beans to him about what exactly happened before he gets completely brainwashed by Trupti.
And yes, how can Gautam not even know what his own, biological son has studied, considering that they all live in the same house too😕 !!

You've brought up some very good points. Kudos!
I'd like to differ on one point though...Gautam was not as much a spoilt brat as a neglected, angry child. Kiran and Aarti didn't take care of him properly and were too busy for him (Kiran openly admits this) and he was a lonely child throughout, especially after finding out at the age of twelve that he was an adopted child. Also remember that he had run away from home when he met the Viranis for the first time: his situation was that bad.
Even Gautam was truly loving in many cases...he was affectionate towards Karishma, his adopted sister, made sure Shoba got married when everyone else was against it, and protected her against his old friend Vikram when the latter tried to spread rumours about a fake marriage with her. He also liked Baa when he thought all the others were after his money. But all that aside, yes...he IS way more aggressive than Nakul!

Tnx Lizzy and i agree with your POV too 😊.
Gautam, however aggressive he was, still was caring to the ppl he loved, just like Nakul.
And, Does Nakul know about his adoption at all ? 😕

As far as I can see, not in the slightest He doesn't even know that Ganga is his real adopted mother, let alone that he was adopted at all...as far as I can see. Only Joydeep, Eklavya and Bhumi really know that they are adopted...and from these three, Bhumi knows only that Nandhini is her mother.

Hey...i actually meant does he know that D & G are his real parents?
He very well knows that Ganga is his mom. I remember in one of the episodes, during a party in Shantiniketan, Ganga comes and tries to talk to him and asks about his well-being, he says there is no need to display fake motherly affection on him. Then Ganga asks him does he still think she abandoned him and Lakshya and walked out ? She tries to explain but he stops her and goes away.
It's all Sahil's fault. He doesn't have the guts to admit to his children that he fell for Tripti and had an Extra-Marital affair with her and Ganga was forced to leave or rather was driven out of the house. In spite of having been given his share of the business, he failed to prove himself and come up in life. Not to mention, made the kids suffer in poverty.
I wonder why didn't Gautam and Damini take Nakul back after Ganga left ? They handed over their kid to Ganga and not to any other woman. They could've easily got Nakul's custody as he no longer lived with his adoptive mother.
