Nach Baliye 2

The most popular jodi on Star One's Nach Baliye 2, Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan has been voted out of the dance contest.

Last evening, Hiten and Gauri — better known as Karan and Nandini of Kyunki —found themselves in the danger zone for the second time in succession. They were fortunate to pip Manav Gohil and Shweta Kawaatra last week.

However, yesterday they put in a performance that fetched them paltry 18 points —lowest amongst remaining four couples.

When contacted, Hiten confirmed that they had been eliminated. "There is nothing to be shocked about our ouster. We performed badly. So there was no reason how we could have retained our place. The competition has reached a stage where the judges take every couple's current performance into account. We reached the last four, and we are happy about that," he told MiD DAY.

Ketki Dave, who was eliminated with her husband Rasik in the very first round, says she is confused why Hiten and Gauri were shown the door. "I am surprised. If this jodi could remain in the contest with just 15 points to their credit in the past, why were they thrown out when they scored 18?" she questioned.

Not surprising

Narayani Shastri was not surprised, she said, "Nach Baliye is about both dance and popularity, not just the latter. Hiten and Gauri could not have won. But let's applaud their hard work too. They worked very hard to reach the last four."

With Hiten and Gauri out, many feel Hussain and Tina are now the prime contenders for the title.

Rasik says, "I have been saying from the first day that Hussain and Tina will be crowned as the winners. Hussain is a very good dancer. I was not sure about Tina, but she has surprised everyone."

According to Raja Chaudhary, "Hussain-Tina will clash with Bakhtyaar-Tanaaz in the final. Hussain-Tina should win."

Hussain and Tina have scored full 30 points in this round, which will be aired on Monday.

😭 that's soo sad. i was hoping they stayed and so did manav and shweta. oh well someone's gotta go. and i guess they're performances were low

i have nooo reason to watch nach baliye either.. i dont know what happened to the audience.. they stoped voting for Hiten-Gauri..
