I think KT's character is supposed to be the more dominant aspect of her personality, not her face or looks. That's why Ekta had to bring someone who is a very good actress, sweet and youthful. All the other names mentioned in this thread and some other threads just do not gel in the character.

Neha (KYPH) has a sweet face but a very insipid and dry voice. She would be unable to deliver the goods. From what I understand KYPH is very low on TRPs and I am not blaming the actors for it but yes, the screen presence and chemistry does play an important role. Depsite the fact that both Iqbal and Neha are very good looking, their chemistry has not sparked off the right level of interest amongst audiences. In fact these days the only good portions of the serial are around Hiten. So ultimately Ekta had to turn to Hiten to anchor a sinking show.

Some of the other names proposed eralier do not fit the bill like Mona Singh (Too old and stout) and Prachi Desai (Again a bit too timid and quiet to get into the skin of a blabbering chracter).

So while drawing comparisons, it is important to understand the character and what is expected of it. I am not saying that these other actresses are not good, but just that they are not tailor made for this role. Thus in my view Moni Roy suits the character of KT the best. rest everything like her compatibity to Lakshya or vice versa falls around this fact.
