Kuch Tum Kaho, Kuch Hum Kahein, is the story of Sagar family. Sumeet Sagar, an ad agency owner, and Vasundhara, painter by education and housewife by choice, are a happily married couple since 32 years. Life has always been very kind to them and they have lived it to the fullest. But the only problem that they had to come across was the difference of opinion, often called as generation gap between the father and the son. Sumeet has followed principles of honesty in running business. Pratik on the other hand is today's youth and he likes to dare and take up challenges in his own style. And this nature of him had resulted into a confrontation with his father years ago, which split the family at once. So, while Sumeet and Vasundhara continued to live life in their own way minus having son and daughter-in-law with them, Pratik and Sargam left the house to pursue their own goals, their own dreams.

Kuch Tum Kaho, Kuch Hum Kahein is the story of love and respect, family and its values, togetherness and understanding. Though Sumeet and Pratik became rivals of each other since that dreadful day, Vasundhara and Sargam continue their relation of love and warmth even distantly. They meet each other at many places except at home. Things take a turn when Vasundhara collapses due to a depression attack and when her hand gets fractured. Sargam comes to their home along with Pratik. Sumeet permits them to stay with them for a month. Sargam encourages Vasundhara to revive her art of painting and that she should aspire to become a big name in the art world. Sargam also teaches Sumeet to become a self-reliant man and to take care of his own belongings than being dependent on his wife.

Soon, Vasundhara gets overly busy with her colours and canvases, leaving behind the kitchen and home. Sumeet slowly starts handling and managing himself independently. Vasundhara's talent makes her a sought after artist and she even receives a well-known award of the painting world. But by the time all these things happen, she realizes that getting involved with hobby and profession has increased distance between her and Sumeet. She also realizes that though Sargam is an intelligent woman, who has proved her abilities as a board member of Jindal group of industries for four consecutive years, knows very little about how to run a home and look after family members. So, while she receives the coveted award in a grand function and gets an opportunity to say few words, she declares that she is happy to be a professional but also understands that one has to pay a price to achieve such goals. And after that, she suddenly declares that her daughter-in-law Sargam, who is a well-known executive in the corporate world, has told her to declare her resignation from the big post. This comes as a rude shock to everyone including Sargam because she was all set to resume her job. But Vasundhara had something else in mind for her sweet daughter-in-law. She wanted Sargam to become an exemplary housewife, a family loving woman, an extraordinary cook and above all, a human being with a class. So, she declares her resignation and takes the charge of the lives of all members of the Sagar family .

What happens hereafter forms the rest of the story of this social comedy play Kuch Tum Kaho, Kuch Hum Kahein. The play has a very unique social message while the viewers get a chance to see new form of relationship between the father and son and mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Breaking away from cleached of Saas-Bahu relations and Baap-Beta quarrels, Kuch Tum Kaho, Kuch Hum Kahein gives its viewers a chance to know new meaning of relationships.

Overall, Kuch Tum Kaho, Kuch Hum Kahein a play that describes the root of quarrels and distance between each member of an Indian family. The root is nothing but ego. Every Indian family, every Saas, every Bahu, every Baap and every Betaa must watch this play which not only has entertainment but also a strong message for those who love their family.

The man in the left played Smriti's father-in-law,Apara is once again playing Smriti's mother-in-law(not like Savita),Smriti herself played the role of Sargam and the person right to her played her husband.
