Gauri-Hiten move into their new pad

If you step into Hiten-Gauri's swanky new pad at Malad, you might want to give Gauri an award for having the most organised and clean house.

However moving into the new house ritual wasn't exactly a joyride as the couple moved into the apartment while finishing touches were still being done. Even the electric wiring was completed after the couple moved into the house.

Gauri took the responsibility of supervising the housework. Her close friends call her a 'control freak' very similar to Courteney Cox Arquette's popular character Monica Geller in the show Friends.

Gauri sheepishly admits that she and Monica do share similar tendencies. "Yes, all my friends call me Monica. I like to do have my things sorted out, and make sure everything is in proper order."

Describing her recent experience of moving into her new flat, she says, "We were staying in a rented apartment, and were told that our new place is almost ready. So we told our tenant that we are ready to leave and shifted to our new ghar, only to realise it wasn't fully operational."

Gauri recalls sleeping without a mattress on the first day. "We moved in the day it rained heavily, so it was quite a task. There were boxes lying everywhere and whole place was in a mess."

Didn't Hiten help? "He's doing three shows at the moment, so I don't expect him to have that much time. But he conveniently told me he wouldn't interfere in my duties since I have taken charge."

No large gathering

Gauri is still unsure about having people over. "This is our house, till now we have been staying at rented apartments. It is a very emotional moment for me. So I don't want anyone to visit us till it's fully ready. In a few weeks, the place should be ready to have party for friends."

Gauri doesn't mind having visitors, as long as they are not in large numbers, "I get panicky when there is a big group in the house. I keep running around ensuring everything is being looked after, and they are having a good time. In a small group, you can control that. Hiten has countless friends in the industry and we both want them to come and visit us."

When does she plan to open her house to visitors? "Very soon, once these minor repairs are done, I will be throwing a small party."
