After her friendship with scriptwriter Rekha Modi and co-star Apara Mehta went kaput, it's being said that actress Smriti Irani is feeling rather lonely.
In view of Smriti's interfering personality, it was alleged that many actors from the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi unit distanced themselves from her. Apparently she is notorious for her bossy demeanour, but now the actress seems to be proving herself a good friend.
She has befriended actress Subhavi, who plays the vamp Meera in Kyunki….
"Smriti is a friend and I can count on her," says Subhavi. "She has always been there for me. In my initial days in Kyunki... I was totally groomed by her. She worked on my dialogue delivery and even my postures and body language. She made me realise that a vamp's body language is different from that of a Tulsi or Ganga."
It's said that Smriti befriends actors and later distances herself from them as a result of her insecurities. "That not true, Smriti has never dumped anyone. From what I know, she is fond of everyone in the unit and is protective towards them. I don't think she's an insecure person. Though certain equations have gone haywire it's unfair to blame only her for it," says Subhavi.
She adds that the only two people she can rely on are Smriti Irani and Shilpa Saklani. "I'm closest to them and admire them as human beings."
With the generation leap of Kyunki… the show will now have three vamps—Subhavi, Tasneem Sheikh and another actress. "Our characters are completely different from each other," says Subhavi. Her new look as Meera is designed by Smriti and Nim Sood along with her own inputs.
