The name Swarchala Narayanan does ring a bell. A look at her photograph and you know you've seen her somewhere, but can't exactly place her. And then you are told about this little role she played in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki. The girl you see in the picture alongside made her television debut in the Balaji soap and a few episodes later disappeared into complete oblivion.

She was Sasha's (played by Chetan Hansraj) love interest Monica on the show. However her character was bumped off after a few days. The actress who has been missing in action all this while is back what she did once… acting in a Balaji serial.

She has been selected to play the 'big negative character' in Ekta Kapoor's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi after the much talked about 20-year leap. Rumour has it that the actress has been attending workshops and brushing up on her language to get into the skin of the character.

Narayanan is the first among the new crop of actors to be signed up for the show. Ekta Kapoor confirms the news. "It is true that Swarchala is the first confirmed actress in the post-leap Kyunki..." she says.

Creative head Shivangi Chauhan chips in, "We auditioned many actresses before deciding to hire Swarchala. She was just perfect for the role."

Apparently the negative character that Narayanan will essay will be the 'first of its kind.' And even as the actress is getting ready to get into the skin of this 'unique' character, the production house is busy scouting for talent as its most popular show is set to take yet another generation leap on June 7.

Sounds to be quite interesting and very different from the usual Mandira and Meera garbage... taking over married men....

Thanks Monika, i hope she just does not replace Meera and Mandira but her role also is somewhat different. Just tired of the same old thing repeating itself. And after the leap Mihir will be in 60's or 70's so we should not see girls falling for him hopefully.
