How was it starting your career with films and then turning to television industry thereafter?

To be very frank, the sole reason for turning to television was that I had no film offers. And I thought it was better to make hay while the sun shines.

Do you feel television has a bigger and wider reach?

Of course it does. Films are an instant source of entertainment while people are attached to television on a daily basis. Television helps the audience connect with the characters and the story. Television surely is a strong medium in creating lasting impressions.

What do you feel is the difference between working on TV and films?

One of the obvious differences is that films may wind-up in two months or take up to three years depending on the subject.

Whereas television stories are based on families and relationships, which develop with every episode and hence requires regular shooting. Besides, television shows are shot faster than the movies.

Do you ever regret the decision of turning down movies?

I had to turn down film offers because I wasn't getting the desired subjects. Moreover, I couldn't commit to other projects, because of my exclusive commitment with the production house that I am currently working for. After three years of hectic work, I chose to spend quality time with my loved ones.

By being on TV, do you think the 'big star' tag is threatened which you can attain through movies?

I refrain from analysing things. I am quite satisfied with what I am doing right now.

Given a choice would you move back to films?

It looks very dicey, since I am more than satisfied with television right now. Quitting television is the last thing on my mind. But nonetheless if there are good films in the offering I will definitely be interested.
