Karan Johar rules the roost when it comes to family dramas. And with Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham on his side, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi seems like the next obvious move.
Family wars, lots of tears, back-biting, opulent sets, the return of the dead, memory losses, fake pregnancies and over-the-top incomes — not to mention the "K" factor — Karan should feel right at home with this one!

Tulsi (Smriti Irani) played by Madhuri Dixit
If you've seen Madhuri Dixit in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, you'll get the picture. Dixit's radiant smile will do wonders to keep the Virani family together.
Ba (Sudha Shivpuri), played by Jaya Bachchan
Jaya Bachchan has already acted in Ma Retire Hoti Hai on the stage circuit, so this should be a breeze. And considering this mother goose has kept the Big B and the younger Bachchan in line for so many years, Ba's role seems perfect cut out for her.
Savita (Apara Mehta), played by Rekha
Apara Mehta, of the wavy hair, big-border sarees, painted eyes, and overt sensuality, is known as the Rekha of TV. So, for Rekha to step into Apara's shoes should be a comfortable switch. And the best part is, she gets to play ma-in-law to Mrs B!
Shobha (Ritu Chaudhary), played by Rani Mukerji
The role of the obedient mama's girl (on a constant emotional roller coaster in the serial) will fit Rani to a T.
With her range of emotions (and domesticated roles in Yuva and Saathiya), this role is bound to fetch her another award.
Mihir (Ronit Roy), played by Anil Kapoor
Mihir is one of those endearing characters who has withstood the trials and tribulations of the Virani parivaar, and is completely devoted to wife Tulsi. Sounds a lot like Anil, doesn't it?
Especially since he has had a successful 20 years in the film industry.
Ansh (Akashdeep Sehgal), played by John Abraham
These two bad boys have the same long hair and menacing looks. And even though they play negative roles on-screen, their female fan following is endless. Ansh is always running from one problem to the next, so John's bike will come in very handy!
