a question about tanya's stabbing

if a virani is the killer then why would they stab tanya???

actually no virani stabbed tanya it was that the killer didnt knew that tanya was trying to nab the killer he/she thought that it was the anonymous caller who was the eyewitness and the stabber was trying to kill him/her--the anonoymous eyewitness
