Asli heroes
Song, dance and fireworks lit up the evening at the HHITA Awards 2005 like one can only imagine. Given the massive scale of the affair, one must commend the perfectly organized arrangements of seating, security, parking… A treat for all, in every sense of the word. Kudos to the organisers,The ITA for conceiving and creating it, to Mr Pawan Munjal of Hero Honda without whose support nothing this fantastic ever comes about, and to Star Plus for making it viewable by families in millions of homes across the globe!
Twinkle-twinkle
Two birthday bashes also took place last week – the first was in honour of Zubin Irani hosted by his wonderful wife Smriti Z. Irani and the other was in honour of Shashi Ranjan, hosted by yours truly. Smriti celebrated Zubin's 40th. birthday at Zenzi in Bandra. She stood at the door personally welcoming all the guests as they arrived. Invitees included all Zubin's old friends, one of them being Lata Mangeshkar's niece who came with a beautiful gift for Smriti, including a lovely handwritten note from Lataji and a sari she had personally bought for her. Much to Smriti's horror, somebody actually stole just that one package from the party.
Other than that, we also met Tarana Raj Kapoor, her hubby, Ronit Roy and his wife Neelam on our way out.
