New Fan, need help understanding few points on the story

Hi All,

I am a new fan of the show. Saw one scene of the show on insta while browsing 2 weeks back. Started watching it instantly. Completed all 100 episodes in 2 weeks 😃.

Since I am new and trying to understand the characters have a few questions on some of the characters.

First question I have for Amrit's character.

I understood most of the part of her character before the leap. But after the leap, there are few things which are unclear.

1. She agrees to marry Veer to protect her family. But since she was waiting for Randheer why did she not have a condition in this marriage in case Randheet returns? Had she lost hope of R's return?

2. Due to circumstances she is not married to Veer but still goes to his house to fulfill her promise as per the teaching of his bauji. But wont her bauji upbringing advice her against sharing a room with a man who is not her husband?

I have plenty of other questions but please help with these two for now.

Welcome to the forum. Let me try to solve your queries-

1. Amrit tells Veer that she is waiting for her fiance and so cannot marry Veer, but Veer does not listen/agree and threatens her that if she does not marry him he will ruin her brother and family. He says- I will not touch you but I want only 1 thing from you- you will never leave me and go. She does not commit in front of viewers but in her mind- agrees to never leave Veer, to stop Veer from ruining her family.

2.On the day of the wedding, she goes to the market with her brother and after the crazy twist, lands up in kotha with Vashma, where Veer comes asking for a substitute bride ( like the movie 'Bahu Begam') and says that if he sees that girl - he will kill her and her family. Hearing this- she goes with him to again protect her family from his wrath ( fulfil vaada track). But yes you are right, here onwards the story does not make sense as her father was very conservative and definitely would have not liked this arrangement of living with a man without marriage, and its 1951. After Randheer comes back, she still goes on repeating the vaada and stays with Veer ( totally out of character of Amrit, as shown before)

Even Randheer seems out of character. If he wants to see Amrit happy (before her marriage truth came out) he should be helping her mend her relationship with Veer who according to him was her husband. For that first he needed to accept the fact which he did not and in place of helping her he is creating more trouble for her.

Even his lecture to Saroj after that goon incident was not like Randheer.

Coming to the current situation where Amrit is married to Veer, the dialogue from last episode "Bahut pyar umad raha tha apne pati par".. that was so creepy and out of character for him.

Randheer has not accepted the fact that she is married which is out of character for him definitely. He told Uday to move on when Vashma married Farooq, so he should do the same. But Creatives are egging on AmDheer as well as AmVeer for TRPs and -they are failing in that-so Randheer says he hates Amrit but his eyes say something else. Story is getting messier day by day -so a retrieval mission should start soon if they want to save the story.

When Amrit got to know from her brother that Veer has asked her hand in marriage, Amrit met Veer. She tried to explain to Veer that she has someone (Randheer) in her life and AmVeer marriage is not possible. In return Veer says that their marriage will take place and gave her reasons why she should marry him. He actually explained her the condition that her family is in and how their marriage can solve all the problems her family is facing. He also says that he doesn't need anything from her. She can keep loving Randheer and the only condition for their marriage is that she cannot leave him ever. She doesn't give an answer in return, but agrees to marry Veer in front of her family to give her family a better life ( She sacrificed her love for the betterment of her family).

2. Due to circumstances she is not married to Veer but still goes to his house to fulfill her promise as per the teaching of his bauji. But wont her bauji upbringing advice her against sharing a room with a man who is not her husband?

Amrit never really thought of that aspect, when she saw Veer at kotta and heard that he wants to kill Amrit ( Veer never said he will kill Amrit's family, she just assumed that he will hurt them). She got scared and wanted to save her family. So without even informing Veer, Amrit accompanied him and introduced herself as Veer's wife in front of his family (mudekhai). Later when Veer gets to know, he gets furious. But he does not hurt her and Amrit too is not scared of him, as she realises that Veer will not harm anyone. Amrit promises Veer that she would act as his wife in front of his family. She did not care about living with a stranger in the same room as he never really troubled her. The problems started with Randheer's return.

I have plenty of other questions but please help with these two for now.

I think there is a slight difference between Randheer and Amrit's relationship VS what Randheer knew about Uday and Vashma's relationship. He knew that they both loved each other and tried to elope as family wont agree (He did not know about the physical intimacy both shared - in 1951 no one would think about that) vs Randheer and Amrit who were almost married and would have been married if those goons arrive 5 mins late. So his reaction wont be same in this case however I agree that his handling of the situation was way out of his character. He was shown as a person who could handle any adverse situation most calmly pre partition. Being in jail also he won over people. Having spend 4 yrs in jail his patience level should have only increased but no it was all the opposite.
