They have to get the audience sympathy for Amrit.So they are showing both men not understanding A and torturing her.

The wedding with V actually was nothing, A has been living with V as his wife for 2-3 months. So what is there to cry about it??? She was to marry V for real 2-3 months ago, it did not happen due to an accident. So this lame excuse of saving R would not get her sympathy.
