So how does she manage to do lovey-dovey scenes with him?
'Livewire'! That's the best way to describe Sanjeeda, better known
as Nimmo from Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka. Selfconfessedly, a prankster to the
hilt who loves pulling legs and playing practical jokes on unsus
pecting people, Sanjeeda confesses that she shocks people with this
facet of hers. But what endears one to the girl, is her no-holds
barred, candid take on any question thrown at her. "I hate hypocrisy
and sycophancy and by that law, I hate hypocrites and sycophants;
which is probably why I don't have too many friends in the industry"
say the girl without batting an eyelid! Well, but what does the gutsy
dame have to say about her friendship with Ekta Kapoor? Sanjeeda is
said to be amongst the select few who share a close rapport with the
soap-queen. "I do share a great rapport with Ekta, but it's purely a
professional one. I never forget the fact that she's my boss! We do
have fun times together, like we recently went on a shoot to
Mauritius and had a fabulous time there but I would not venture to
call Ekta a buddy, nor would I expect her to acknowledge me as the
same. I respect her as my employer."
While on the interesting subject of friendships, what does
Sanjeeda have to say about her, ahem… 'relationship' with co-star
Eijaz Khan? "There is no relationship at all to talk about!" exlaims
Sanjeeda even as she continues "We started out on a friendly note as
co-artistes but somewhere we realised that there was a huge
difference between our thoughtprocesses, that could not be bridged.
But instead of creating a scene, we decided to part ways amicably. We
are professional enough to do lovey-dovey scenes on-screen but off
it, we do not even say a hi or a bye to each other!" But doesn't
Sanjeeda feel that a cordial relationship is essential between actors
who are spending more than twelve hours together? "Had it been
hampering our performance-quality, I would have tried to make amends,
but since it doesn't, why bother?" Sanjeeda counterquestions. Moving
on to lighter matters, Sanjeeda gets all perked up about the one
passion of her life that hardly anyone knows about. No, we are not
talking about a special person since Sanjeeda insists that rumours
notwithstanding, she is not seeing anyone presently and has in fact,
never dated anyone from the industry. We are talking about
choreography, which is Sanjeeda's pet passion! "Not many are aware
that before I got a break with Nimmo..., I was teaching dance to a
host of corporates, glamourous people and kids. I was teaching at a
school in the suburbs and was also imparting lessons in filmi dance
to people like the Hindujas, Chopras (Ravi Chopra) and Rahejas.
Dance, by itself gives me a great high but what I enjoy even more is
to teach people from two to 65 years of age, as I used to do. Oh, I
miss those days. But I'm sure I'll do something in choreography, the
moment I get an opportunity to do so." So, does that mean that we can
hope to see Sanjeeda in some dance-based reality show soon? "No way!
As much as I love to dance, I loathe these shows, which I personally
think, are politically rigged!" says Sanjeeda as she signs off. Now
didn't we say this girl speaks her mind!
