Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka, which began airing, Monday to Thursday, from March 20 on Star One, marks the entry of Balaji on the channel. Star organised a party to celebrate the launch at a well-known Mumbai disc. The centre of attraction obviously was the lead actress, Sanjeeda, who plays Nimmo. This Gujarati Muslim girl dressed in a beautiful Black Punjabi suit said that she bumped into Ekta at a party and viola; she was selected for the role. Acting is not new to Sanjeeda, as she already has done three South Indian films and ultimately hopes to make it big in Bollywood. "Although my name means serious in Urdu, I am just like my character Nimmo, who does not think too much about the future and rather just live life."
Nimmo is part of a close-knit family which includes her dada and dadi (played by Dara Singh and Dolly Thakore, first time on television respectively). Her father Anand Mathuria, essayed by Muni Jha, loves her the most. Besides her parents, Nimmo also has two younger sisters, Swati and Naina, who are very different from her. Naina wants to be a Miss India and hook a rich guy, whereas Swati is highly practical, bold and wants to marry a guy who has his own news channel or has enough money to open one (why this craze for news channels now days). Nimmo is a simple girl who is very confident, bubbly and full of life! She is also very content and satisfied with her life. But she is very clumsy, tripping, breaking glasses quite often and getting into trouble generally. Reminds you of Jassi, doesn't she? Nimmo seems to have a major problem with God, who she thinks, is out to get her. The fact that God is played by Navjot Singh Sidhu, in a never seen before avtar will definitely be fun to watch, for the ex-cricketer turned TV anchor will be in his element, giving his famous Siddhiusm but this time as God. Deepak Sehgal, EVP Content & Communication, Star India Pvt Ltd, after cutting the cake said, "The show will be by far, our biggest launch this year. After the successful launch of shows like Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Nach Baliye, DON and other shows on the fantastic Friday band, we aim to create the same excitement with this show on weekdays. Since the show is produced by Balaji, the leader in television programming and our association with them has been a great; we are thrilled to welcome them to be a part of Star One now."
