New Year Mantra
We asked a few renowned Indians about their mantra for the year ahead, here's all the dope...

Change the system!
I have woken up to this fact that overhauling our system is the need of the hour. Post 26/11, I have realized this fact. So, starting today, I'll do my bit of participation by gearing up to choose our government by casting my vote, which I haven't done ever.
Shahid Kapoor, actor

Victory will be my mission
Nothing tastes better than victory, so I make 'Victory', the mantra for 2009. My first movie this year is also by the same name (Victory). I just hope to keep doing good work all through the year and emerge victorious.
Anoo Malik, music composer

Survival is the key
Be it terrorism or recession, we have been through a lot lately. As far as I think, Indians are known for theirundying strength. When it comes to the struggle for survival, we are definitely unstoppable and we have moved ahead with time. For me, the mantra for 2009 is to work harder and earn good money. At the moment, I don't have any concrete plans and proposals but I think all the efforts I have poured in my professional life will pay off this year. This year I plan to focus on good quality work and gear up for my debut in Bollywood.
Karishma Tanna, TV actor

Happiness is all that matters
2008 was a great year both for me on the personal and professional front. I hope that 2009 proves to be even better. I look forward to a fresh start and a peaceful year. My focus in the coming year would be - don't worry and be happy, because happiness is all that matters.
Aamir Ali Malik, TV actor

Love and laugh!
I have resolved to write my autobiography this year. I live a happy, healthy and wonderful life and would like to continue doing so. I want to give hope, encouragement, guidance and love to all the people around me. I love to love and I love to laugh - that's my mantra to make the most of the New Year."
Bejan Daruwalla, astrologer

Live and let live
I want to do better work in the coming year. I wish good health for my family and loved ones. I would like to be a good citizen and be of help to the society in every way I can. My mantra for 2009 is to Live and let live.
Indrani Dasgupta, model

Health is wealth
I am hoping it will be a successful year for me and I am looking forward to lots of traveling, good living and happiness. My mantra for 2009 is 'health is wealth'.
Bhavana Sharma, model

Make society evil free
My topmost priority this year would be bringing peace and comfort in people's life. I would work hard towards bringing people closer and getting rid of all the evil that is there in the society.
Dolly Thakore, theatre personality

Grow as a person
Growth will be my mantra. I am looking forward to establish my production house in the upcoming year and at the same time I'll continue with my acting. I think its going to be a very interesting year in terms of the projects that I have taken up. Also, I am hoping to do so some serious writing in 2009.
Kabir Bedi, actor

Pray for peace
After the latest terror attack on amchi Mumbai, our lives have definitely changed. When I think of the year passed by the strongest memory that I have is Mumbai in flames, bullet shots, bomb blasts and lifeless bodies. I will just pray that there is peace everywhere in the year 2009 and I get a lot of time with my clan, as my family is my most prized possession.
