That's then again generalized right. World class boyfriend for whom? And husband material for whom? There's something called compatibility,so the ideal definition varies from person to person. No offense to anyone here but I do like preeran's dynamics as friendship better and so does rishta's. Rishta's relationship is weird in my opinion because the level in which they respect each other is out of the world and I can never think of a person like that romantically. Life partner involves both the compatibility factor and the attraction factor and they both are equally important. You can be very compatible with someone but not attracted to them and can't imagine having physical relations (which is also a part of the relationship) with them and vice versa. Sorry if this was a little too much. Anyway,so the writers have shown compatibility from Rishab and attraction from Karan. So let's see what they do after this
Preeta's Beeji as well as the writers were generalising. But Preeta's Beeji has also been specific and so have been the writers. 😆Characters like Karan Luthra make excellent male leads because of the fact that they are arrogant, classist, misogynist, egotistic womanisers. In fact they are often great for fiction in general.
But what I meant when I was talking about how Preeta's Beeji was talking about how Karan Luthra is a first class boyfriend and not husband material, it to me felt like the makers were foreshadowing it. And everything that has been shown in Kundali Bhagya up until now has kind of also made it clear.
Karan was an excellent boyfriend material because he is a flirt. He is undoubtedly charming, confident and his very physical presence and attention to the girl he is interacting with at that very moment makes him a good boyfriend. - General quality.
Now coming to the point of him being a not good husband material. I will assume that you have already seen what he has done to Preeta post getting married to her, but I'll try and describe from my perspective the general character traits which don't make him a good husband material for anyone. And I'll also try and stick to the traits that were clearly shown by the makers before Rishabh and Sherlyn' wedding. 😆
For one the quality that makes him a good boyfriend material makes him precisely bad for marriage. He is a flirt, he is charming and he knows it. Added to the fact that he is distrustful, impatient, a bad judge of character and has the emotional level of a tantrum throwing toddler. Not a lot of women willingly and knowingly believe that a 'man-child' is a decent choice for a husband. 😃
Now, coming to the point of attraction, Preeta was and is attracted to Karan and there is no argument against it. But marriage and attraction aren't necessarily words that are mutually always inclusive. However, even more importantly Preeta has never been shown to be 'unattracted' to Rishabh either. There have been multiple insances when Preeta has been shown to shy away from Prithvi, Deepak or Mehul's touch. Of course Rishabh has been shown to be a gentleman but Preeta has never distanced away from Rishabh. In fact Preeta has on multiple occassions tried to create a physical distance between herself and Karan when he has been obnoxious.
