I really liked the hashtag used by Zee for Preeta and Karan. They are specifically utilizing the term junoon which in my understanding of the word clearly means obsession. Also, the conversation that Sarla had with Jaanki it made a lot of sense as in whatever was between Karan and Preeta was more than friendship but it wasn't love either.

Yes, Sarla's definition of their relationship is very interesting. I believe that characters of the show speak for the writers sometimes. I see that scene as a meaningful one for better understanding.

I agree. I remember this dialogue by Preeta's Beeji which was very interesting. She said so without any prejudice that Karan was a first-class boyfriend material but for a husband Rishabh is kinda perfect. Now, with all the things that are happening in the show it makes complete sense. In my view it always did because I did not like Karan's behaiviour from the begining but the fact that the makers have actually underlined that already is a very telling thing.

I don't know if I am reading too much into this. But I've always thought that there is more behind the "the Karan luthra" thing. Karan luthra is the good, sweet but probably slightly temperamental and stubborn kid of Mahesh and Rakhi Luthra and kid brother of Rishab Luthra. "The Karan Luthra" on the other hand is probably his alter ego he created when fame came along. Tkl is a narcissistic, egoistic, selfish, judgemental, clouded guy who charms his way round the girls and has the whole nation in the palm of his hand. And this tkl will be his destruction. To a point that I guess he'd only use tkl as a demeaning negative phrase or won't use it at all. So far he keeps saying tkl when is proud of something or confident about something.

Maybe that's why his character is very confusing. There's a human side and an alter ego that came along with fame.

That's then again generalized right. World class boyfriend for whom? And husband material for whom? There's something called compatibility,so the ideal definition varies from person to person. No offense to anyone here but I do like preeran's dynamics as friendship better and so does rishta's. Rishta's relationship is weird in my opinion because the level in which they respect each other is out of the world and I can never think of a person like that romantically. Life partner involves both the compatibility factor and the attraction factor and they both are equally important. You can be very compatible with someone but not attracted to them and can't imagine having physical relations (which is also a part of the relationship) with them and vice versa. Sorry if this was a little too much. Anyway,so the writers have shown compatibility from Rishab and attraction from Karan. So let's see what they do after this

but rishabh was attracted to preeta and thought romantically about her a lot of times. its not like he always only respected her 😆

as far as karan's behavior is concerned, he makes every girl physically comfortable with him. nothing new if preeta got somewhat comfortable with him too.

on the other hand, rishabh is a one woman man and very shy, he never got close girls like karan did. but it does not mean that rishabh has no sexual feelings whatsoever 😆. he always dreamed of marrying a girl like preeta and to have a family with her.

preeta did have some feelings for karan. i would say she was crushing over him a little bit, like all other girls. nothing new it.

and i do see attraction between rishabh and preeta. preeta was always very respectful towards him. but was it compulsory that she had to be physically comfortable with him before marriage. a few things can be left to be explored after marriage. ( if they got married at all )

I think you are thinking too much into it in terms of compatibility more so in indian serial terms. In real life compatibility is even more harder to actually define and conclude what makes two people compatible. But if we look at it only from the perspective of a fictional drama, preeta and rishabh are as compatible as it gets. They have to a certain extent a few similiar characteristic traits, they are both simple and traditional with the same values and approach to their families, and above all, they both have a lot of respect and trust for each other. Like preeta and rishabh are what a healthy relationship would be like.

Fair enough. I guess I was overthinking an ITV show lol
