I know we should not be really comparing but could not help to try to draw some parallels between KKB and KDB. Two things become very clear by now. PreeRan like Abhigya... and SamShri like Purab-BB... Some similarities and some differences but a broad likeness can be seen even if you do not want to! So I am still struggling therefore with Rishab character and where and how he fits in this. I can't see a similarity to Suresh so some new angle needs to be developed to giving a meaning to his character. I want to see the character have a meaningful continuation in the series.

I guess there's more to it than meets the eye. Till now we've only seen the good, perfect side of Rishabh. On the other hand, Karan's flaws and goodness all have been brought to the table. Especially after today's episode, Sarla's description about Karan says it all. Same goes for Rishabh, he seems to be moody and over occupied when it comes to Preeta..lashing out at everyone. So we may get to see a never seen before side of him. Anyway time will tell.

Tbf i think KDB is Ekta's attempt to go along with the sense and sensibility type story that she had first started KKB with the intent of. Till now i must say she is doing a good job of that.

I thought Ekta wanted to adapt from Pride and Prejudice and not sense and senisibility.. may be bother are same or similar. I am not familiar with either of them.

As far as i remember i had read her interview which stated KKB was inspired by SnS with a single mother and her two daughters. The elder sensible and reserved and the younger naive and a hopeless romantic. PnP had 5 daughters out of which the 1st two are very responsible and this story hardly gives the PnP vibe. Coz PnP is incomplete without Mr Darcy and this story doesn't have that character at all😆

Yup you are correct: Here is the excerpt from KKB forum:
"Kumkum Bhagya is a very passionate love story. Based loosely on Jane Austen's classic 'Sense and Sensibility', Kumkum Bhagya is its Indian interpretation, following the life of a Punjabi matriarch Sarla Arora who runs a marriage hall ."
