I feel like Rishabh is Purab's parallel in the show. Tanu and Aliya mistook Pragya and Purab's friendship as love. Which in this case Kareena and Sherlin are. Then Aliya who was in love with Purab got Abhi to marry Pragya. Sherlin who wants to marry Rishabh may make Karan and Preeta get closer/marry. The forced marriage, even though the initial attraction may bring tensions between Karan and Preeta but ultimately they will properly fall in love. Purab and Abhi despite being best friends had misunderstandings between them as well. So Rishabh and Karan may have a falling out for a time, even though both of them will remain good at heart.
