i think kk father is a typical indian village conservative father. daughter is his pride. but his ijjat lies in his families' behaviour & he doesnt want his prestige down due to his daughter, & hence is sacrificing his own daugther's happiness. poor kk, if she was in some city, she could have got support from her friend's & gone against all odds. but this is how she will learn to fight as our previous kk did.
