PART 5-

Sumit walks out of the apartment to go get his stuff from the car. He soon returns carrying a huge heavy box. He hurriedly walks towards his bedroom unaware of the clutter lying on the floor. He stumbles over something that Kumkum had left lying on the floor. Landing hard on the cold floor, Sumit lifts himself and angrily gazes back at what he fell over. There lying on the floor a pretty looking sandal. Sumit mutters angrily to himself.

Sumit: itni cute si sandal itni khatarnak ho sakti hai, toh isko pehne wali kitni khatarnak hogi.

Kumkum who is busy eating the apple she got from Sumit, glances over and sees Sumit on the floor. A little surprised she rushes over to him. Sumit quickly sits up.

Kumkum: arre, wahan kyun baite ho…

Sumit: (angrily) shok hai… mujhe baitne ka…

Kumkum: (concerned) tum theek toh ho na.

Kumkum can see that Sumit looks to be in pain. She puts her hand out to help him up. Sumit is even more angered.

Sumit: jab utthana hi tha toh ghiraya hi kyun?

Kumkum: kya??

Kumkum is shocked at the remark and can see that Sumit thinks Kumkum, purposefully left the sandal lying around.

Sumit: tum apni cheezein sambhal ke nahi rakh sakti?

Kumkum watches him with envy now, feeling upset that he rejected her help and blames her.

Kumkum: kamrah hi kahan hai mere paas, yeh sab samaan sambhalne ke liye? Kisi ne toh aate hi harap liya na bedroom.

Sumit cringes at her comment trying not to show his true feelings he gets up and picks his stuff up. He goes into his room once again, sitting on the bed rubbing his sore knee. It's pretty red now and aches quite a bit.

Outside Kumkum dislikes Sumit even more now.

Kumkum: ek toh main kuch kiya hi nahi, upper se madat bhi karne ki koshish ki, lehkin nahi… nawab hai yeh… Inko haath lagana bhi mana hai.

She paces up and down the lounge trying to remove all bad feelings by saying them out loud. The suddenly she stops in the middle of a sentence.

Kumkum: ek min… lounge mera hai, sandal bhi lounge mein hi tha, UFF!! Ek toh meri side pe aake mujhe bata raha ki main apni cheezien kaise aur kahan rakhun. Abhi batati hoon isse… glasses laga ke ghuma karne na agar kuch dikhta nahi hai… hmph…

She stamps her foot and hurries of to her devises.

Sumit on the other hand is limping around his room, trying to unpack. Soon he also finishes him unpacking. It's almost 11pm now. Sumit get changed and lies in bed. Not feeling hungry and angered by the thought that the kitchen belongs to Kumkum, Sumit is unwillingly to even think about food.

Sumit shuts his eyes thinking- thank god he finished his unpacking today itself as he had to go to work tomorrow and would have been too exhausted to unpack after he returned. He turns his side and switches of the lamp.

There is silence in the whole apartment Sumit assumes that Kumkum too must have gone to sleep. Just as he shuts his eyes he hears a loud tearing noise. Unsure if he is hearing things Sumit lies still and waits too see if he hears the noise again. To his surprise he does hear the tearing noise this time slightly louder.

Sumit: uff! Ab yeh maharani pata nahi kya kar rahi hai.

Hastily he throws the blanket aside and gets up to investigate. He pulls his room door open.
