Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Shaji Karun wants to bring Madhuri Dixit back on the big screen after her long maternity leave, in a film called Suryamukhi — based on the life of Raja Ravi Verma (1848-1906).

Verma, a scion of the royal family of Travancore, left his royal life to become a painter. He used to paint mythological figures from Hindu epics.

He fell in love with his muse, a certain Goan-Maratha beauty called Sugunabai. She modelled for him, and he also painted her bare, which saw him in court thanks to the orthodox society of those times (not much has changed since, Hussain[this surely is NOT our hussain 😆 😆 😆 😆] will agree).

Sugana withdrew and never modelled for him again. He stopped painting gods and goddesses, thereafter. Sounds like a charming love story. So, will Mads choose Karun over Chopra? We'll keep you posted.
