| Juhi Parmar at Palm Court | Come March, Juhi Parmar (aka Kumkum) will move out from her rented flat in Sahkar Nagar, Andheri to a plush 3-BHK apartment in Palm Court Complex at Malad with her younger sister Hina who is a fashion designer. Karan-Nandini ki padosi
Actors Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan (Karan and Nandini of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) will be her neighbours. The Kyunki couple live one flight above Juhi.
However, Hiten and Gauri will be moving in by June or July. Juhi tells hitList, "I will be staying in a flat, which isn't surrounded by other buildings — its well-lighted and airy, and I just can't wait to move in."
| At the Palm Court headstone | The interiors of Juhi's new house are being taken care of by good friend, Preeti Garud, who is an interior designer by profession. "When I had been to Preeti's house for the first time, I was overwhelmed at the way she had done it up. I had told her, then, that whenever I get a place of my own, she would have to do that as well." House-hunting ends
Juhi had actually been house- hunting for more than a year before she booked the Palm Court flat in October 2004. "But when I entered this particular apartment, I immediately felt a lot of positive vibes. I immediately called up the builders for a booking," she says. | Juhi Parmar with a friend | Making a house a home
Juhi and Preeti are shopping some of the things, which will make to Juhi's abode.
"We go together to pick up the wooden flooring, Italian marble and bathroom tiles. Frankly, I trust Preeti's choice completely but she says that I must accompany her because I am the one who has to stay in the house. It would have been ready by now if I had more time to myself.
Due to my hectic shooting schedules, I manage some time only during the second-half of every month. We are not buying the cupboard, bed and dining table. Those are being created by Preeti's labourers." vickey.lalwani@mid-day.com |
Kahani Juhi ki
Right from childhood, Juhi was obsessed with the idea of acting on screen. After completing her studies in Jaipur, she came down to Mumbai, started off with a cameo in Jee Sahab, directed by Manjul Sinha. The title role of Shaheen was a turning point in her career. Then came Kumkum. For a brief while, she played Devi. The rest, as they say, is history. | |
