Yeah she has always seemed way too attached to her son from beginning, although I noticed from beginning it has always been vikram that understands him better even though he doesn't molly-coddle him like pallavi and dida always do. And look... vikram so far is also the first of the family to see ranbir pain and accept ranbir love for prachi (the fact vikram will do shit all about it is another thing), so that proves that vikram is the parent that actually understands him, whilst pallavi is just the typical possessive and over-protective mother as I had always felt since beginning.

My gut tells me it is a drama and that pallavi had this planned beforehand as she knew ranbir was leaving the house from aryan. Plus after she locked ranbir in his bedroom before getting to know from aryan he is leaving the house, she was saying to dida and vikram that now she knows what she needs to do, which clearly showed she had an idea in her mind, but then from aryan she gets to know ranbir is leaving and then just when ranbir is leaving she collapses. abhi has only ever known when ranbir or rhea have some childish obstinence they want fulfilling, and abh's understanding has been, what they want, give to them. That's not understanding someone.... that's just pampering. Ranbir used to run off to abhi anytime he felt vikram was being a uncool dad and because of abhi vikram would get what he wants, but that's it. Vikram on the other hand would often be able to interpret and sense ranbir's feelings before anyone without many words from ranbir. That's understanding.
