Chapter 8
Ranbir's point of view
Rubbing my chin, I gave her a long pensive look trying to decipher her and process what she just said. "So Miss know it all has decided to work with me. After a moment, I agreed
"Okay. Besides, we have no other option left."
"Let's go to the library and plan for whatever assignment we might get in the next class," prachi suggested.
.................
When we arrived at the library, we chose a table that was secluded from the dense book shelves. I was sitting there with prachi right next to me; with the palm of her right hand cradling her right cheek. After a moment, she said
"I will dig for information and come up with new ideas and ways as to how we can modify that information."
"You will organize that information, edit and double check everything."
The way she kind of decided what I would do without asking for my opinion pissed me off. I detested this kind of partnership where only one partner got to decide everything. I asked her glaring at her like the insufferable know it all she was being
"Madam, What do you think of me?"
"Do you think I am dumb?"
"You really think I am incapable of coming up with creative ideas?"
Prachi huffed and replied giving me a pointed look,
"Firstly, I don't know you, ranbir."
"I have never worked with you on assignments before."
"Secondly, If I had given you the brainstorming part of our assignments, you would have again blamed me for giving you the hardest part"
Holding up my right hand to stop her from saying anything else more,
"We will brainstorm, double check and edit together. No-one gets to work more or less"
Holding out my right hand for a handshake, I asked her,
"What do you say?"
"Do we have a deal?"
Not without any ounce of hesitation, she put forth her right hand and enclosed hers with mine. She said
"Deal done!"
The feeling of her small hand in mine sent strange kinds of sensantion coursing through my veins like some signals were telling me from far away that this partnership was Destiny or fated. I never believed in these things because I was the kind of guy who never took religious kumkum or kundali at face value. I would always laugh when dida would make me do stupid stuff like making me eat sweet things before going for anything important like exams. Somehow this agreement felt different; like it was going to happen again somewhere in the distant future.
