Hi, I am again with a story of Abhi and Pragya. This story is completely different from KKB. I hope you all will like it. it's a three shot.
Abhishek Prem Mehra, 23 Years old, was a Mathematics Teacher in KKB School at Mumbai. He was very well known for his teaching skills, students love Mathematics classes because of him. All the other teachers were impressed by seeing the students' interest in mathematics, because of their lovely Abhi Sir'. He joined two years before with a mathematics graduate without completing his proper B. ed course for teaching. However seeing his dedication the school took him granted for his job. He was continuing his studies by part time.
His personal life, he has only his Daadi as his living family. Daadi stays at Ludhiana with her cousin family. Being a single person, Abhi stays in PG and manage his daily life with his income, and also send some good amount to Daadi too.
Abhi was simple and lighthearted person, he never intent to hurt anyone; also his humoring nature will make everyone to be comfortable with him. He is a little sensitive person too.
Pragya Arora, 16 years old, was a daughter of Ram Arora and Sarla Arora. Due to his father's transfer she has to change her school. Till 9th grade she had studied in Women convent. Now after her father's transfer to Mumbai she had joined in KKB School, that too co-education. She hates Mathematics due to her childhood incident. To overcome that hatred Pragya's father insist her to become a Mathematics Professor.
Ram Arora, Head of the Department Science in a reputed college, who got recently, transfer to Mumbai. Sarla Arora, Home maker. She was the one who always play an intermediate cum referee between father and daughter.
Pragya was an active girl; she was a talented girl but due to his Women convent strict rules, which she followed for years, stops her to mingle in the new co- education school. Her fearing behavior makes the other student to tease her.
Let's see how both their path gets together.
Pragya was joined in the time of her board exam academic year start. 10th grade was very much important for all students' life, first time attending a Government managing exam. New environment, non friendly atmosphere made Pragya to frighten more. Boys tease her as Chashmish' since she was wearing her Chashma. Abhi's Daadi was unwell so Abhi was in leave for first few days of the School opening.
She was happy that mathematics class has been skipped for initial days as the staff was on leave. Abhi returned from Ludhiana.
That day, during the Mathematics hour, they met for the first time. Abhi entered inside the class, all the students got over excited by seeing him. All the students knew him very well except Pragya. Abhi greeted everyone and started the class. He found Pragya as the new student and called out her to stand.
Pragya stood up with a tensed look. He asked her introduction, Pragya said her name, but before she says further, boys started to tease her and comment her as Chashmish'. Pragya's eyes welled up which was noticed by Abhi. Abhi said the students to stop teasing her as she was getting tensed. He observed her well and thought to observe more so he left the topic of introduction. He informed the students that he will be taking care of Mathematics and also he was the personal mentor for the students.
Days started to roll and at the first term exams Pragya got average marks, which was good, compare to her class mock test. Still she was not mingled with the other students. Abhi fixed a particular day to have mentor visit with the students, and he kept Pragya's name at the last of the list.
Pragya's turn came, she went to meet Abhi, and it was an empty class. Abhi was sitting in the teacher's chair, the table consists of every test papers. Abhi noticed her and ask her to come and sit on the chair which was near to him. The fear of boys and Gent staff made Pragya tensed to sit with Abhi.
Abhi checked all her papers, and asked her how she was feeling in this new environment. She didn't speak up; she was just staring at her hands. Abhi asked the question once again, her eyes shot up to him with fear. She poured out the fear of the boys, who was teasing her and she was not comfortable in the class due to their behavior. Abhi was making a note on her mentor book.
Abhi prompted her that he came to know that she was a sport player, which sport she was good with. Pragya forget the fear and replied him that she was a basket ball player, and she had won state level junior grade championship. Abhi found that she was coming out of her tensed world by sharing about her. He smiled and asked then why she didn't give her name in this school basket ball player. She replied that boys didn't let her to add the name in the player's list.
Abhi asked her that do she have any other special talent that others don't know. Pragya hesitates first but Abhi asked her to say it. She said that she writes poem. Abhi amused and asked her to show some poem of her. Pragya said that her poem diary was in her home, she will show it later. She was getting comfortable with Abhi. He enquired about her father, she replied that he was fine and asked how he knows her father. Abhi smiled and said that her father was science professor in the same college where he studied. After a while of conversation, he asked her to leave. Pragya started back to her class, but he stopped her.
Pragya turned and asked what sir. Abhi said that before next term mentor meet she has to complete three tasks. Pragya nodded and asked what the tasks are. Abhi said firstly, get more marks in mathematics which I will help you with. She raised her one finger as first task and asked the next one, Abhi said you have to give your name in basket ball team and have to play in the next tournament. Pragya nodded and raised another finger, last one. Abhi smiled and said that his birthday fall after her next term exams, so he need his birthday gift which should be her poem for him. Pragya looked surprised and nodded excitedly. Abhi wished her luck and both left the place to their respective work.
On that day evening, while returning home, Abhi found Pragya at the playground near basket ball court. He smiled and thought himself, she just need someone to support her. After some days, one evening Abhi visited Arora house. He was talking with Ram; Pragya came out from her room and was leaving to her basket ball practice. Her father scolded her not to step out for any sport practice until her exams get over.
Abhi noticed her changing face from smiling to disappointment. She didn't argue, she just nodded and got inside her room. Sarla came and argued on behalf of her daughter, that she was best in sports why to stop her, she was good in her studies too. Ram replied that she was not scoring good marks in mathematics. Sarla didn't reply anything; she got into Pragya's room to console Pragya.
Abhi assured Ram that Pragya will score good marks in mathematics in forthcoming exams, and informed him that he was her mathematics teacher. Ram felt little embarrassed and replied that he believe that she can score good marks still he need to be strict with her. Abhi thought why all the parents are thinking that being strict make student to score good marks, which gives the opposite result. After a while, he left her home.
Her next term exams got over, as Abhi said he made special class for all the students, he shared some special methods to the students, how to solve the problems in the mathematics. Being the mentor, he was the best friend for the students. One day, Abhi made a challenge between boys and girls, a basket ball match. The challenge was who score more points, with a condition, that there should be no physical touch or abuse between boys and girls, play genuinely. If he found that anyone was violating the condition will be facing a worst punishment.
Abhi knew that Pragya was an awesome player still her fear of boys and not mingling with the class was frightening her. That was the reason for this challenge. The game started and the students were very much keen to gain points. As Abhi advised/warned boys and girls played according to the condition. Seeing them playing all the other students in the school started surrounding the basket ball court. School principal, who came for casual rounds, noticed this and stood near Abhi. He knew that Abhi doesn't do anything without a reason. They greeted each other and watched the game.
Boys and girls were tie. Very few minutes left, both boys and girls were trying their level to gain points. Ball was on Pragya's hand, but near the basket of opponent's side. She needs to travel the other side to basket the ball. The determinant player inside her started to come out from the fear of playing with the boys. Slowly and steadily she managed to make a track to the opposite side, Abhi gestured the other girls to stop following her and let the boys play. All the other girls stopped and principal looked confused yet watched the game.
Pragya was trying her level and there she goes, the state level champion came out of the fear world, boys got amused by her playing skills. Now she was standing near the basket where she have to put the ball, all the boys were surrounding her, a peak time, Abhi was keeping her whistle near his lips and looking her keenly. While she was suppose to basket the ball, a boy caught the ball, Abhi felt little upset but not more than a seconds, Pragya followed and got the ball and basket it, that was a point and the girls won.
All the girls came and hugged her, even the boys complimented her playing skills, and the sports teacher appreciated her and selected her for the next tournament. Pragya looked Abhi, who was smiling at her and said that You did it Pragya'. She understood.
As Abhi wished, Pragya gave him her poem as his birthday gift. Abhi was literally amused by her writing. It was about a Guru' (teacher) and he said that it was the best compliment for him as so far.
Finally Pragya's board exams started, she had really worked hard for these exams. Being a mathematics teacher, Abhi arranged special coaching class for all the subjects also. Since Abhi sir was guiding them, the student concentrated in the studies. Exams got over and all the students had given their best in the exams.
At the last day of exams, Abhi met the students in their class room. He informed everyone that he was getting resigned and also he was getting married. Definitely all the girls who had crush on Abhi sir would be sad for the news. He gave one common invitation to everyone. Pragya got that invitation and read it.
Abhishek Prem Mehra Weds Tanushree Mehta. Marriage was at Ludhiana, she smiled but she doesn't know why she felt hurt. May be that is because she might miss him.
After that Abhi didn't visited School, he had resigned and joined some college, no one knew about him. Pragya continued her higher secondary in the same school. She chose mathematics as her main subject, reason maybe her father wants her to become a mathematics professor, or an unknowing interest which was seeded by Abhi sir.
Two years of higher secondary School studies was not that much difficult, but she missed that comfortable with other staff. She was team leader for the basket ball team of the school. For the first time school won their championship under Pragya's team. Pragya has a note which consists of all the technique which Abhi taught her for making mathematics easy.
Finally higher secondary school got an end, exams over. All the students joined a train by opening up their arms as butterfly and the train travelled around all the classes. Principal saw this and thought himself that this batch of students is always special throughout this school history. While the train was suppose to reach the gate entrance side, the first person leading the train bumped with a person.
The first person leading the butterfly of students train was none other than Pragya, and the person she bumped was their Abhi sir, her Abhi sir. Seeing him all the students came and hugged him. Since Pragya was already hitting him, while students hugging him made Pragya even more close to him.
Abhi's face lighten up with a bright smile by seeing his students, and finally it noticed the pair of longing eyes which was still gazing him, and it was Pragya. He asked her How are you Chashmish?' with a naughty and concern voice. All she replied was I missed you Abhi sir'. Their eyes locked for a moment, an invisible bonding bonded on that day.
