Yes, if Pragya can't get Abhi.. he should not be ever told the truth. He will only be told the truth if he will agree to be with Pragya.

I had mixed feelings about the increasing baby love and decreasing love for Pragya line, Ann. I'll leave it at that. That poor baby.

Btw, just for a reminder, when Pragya learnt the truth.. a few days before that, Abhi had told her- I don't wanna marry Tannu, let's deal with that baby problem some other way, be with me, my love!

this is the dialogue that the writers have used to justify all that was done...and how it was done...even now they are presenting it in a way in which abhi has his doubts about the truth..(which is understandable)...so the baby which abhi had placed all his love and attachment to because pragya told him to treat the baby as theirs...(without knowing the truth at that time0 has been made the scapegoat...the baby's life had to come to an abrupt end...unfortunately... I don't believe that abhi would not have been told the truth...even if the baby was still there...but the emotional attachment that he had for the baby would have definitely clouded his judgement...and made it even harder for him to come to terms that in reality this baby that became his everything after pragya left...had no blood relation with him...

the writers made proof the catalyst for telling the truth...and in the end the truth was told without the much chased after proof...all just for the sake of a dragged...absolutely foolish pregnancy track...

This is the reason why I said some dialouges I ignored.
If we take it on face value she meant this only but they are so many scenes which proves contrary to what she said.

Like Prani said I had mixed feelings.

I was happy she was venting out she felt bad seeing his love for the baby because she knew the baby isn't his and at the same time I felt like shaking her and saying "Pragya what are you talking? It doesn't matter he loves you or not, it doesn't matter he will accept you or not. You should tell the truth because he is being lied and you know the truth. You can't let your love be in a lie"
