Hmm Abhi was into major MU at that time and he was very seriously fighting Pragya with this Aalu thing. He was really taking revenge on her.

Yes he wasn't himself with her yet he stood up for right things at the need of the moment.
I think that is what established his character and earned him Pragya's love amidst the awful revenge path he was on.

(Now Pragya should look at Tannu similarly with revenge or even worse given Tannu has harmed so much.. Would have solved Abhi's problem too quicker).
