Glad you clarified it's not about really cutting off his hand. Because I wouldn't want to! 😊
I suggest we extend the petition to include all those who slap - men, women, young, old, etc.😛

purab is the most non violent person( maybe minus his assault on neil)! (
So the only thing matters is how Abhi uses anything to his advantage not how others use him to their advantage!
Some people don't believe that there is such a thing as patriarchy, or that there are cultural legacies from historical practices...that may make them inclined to judge a situation and base expectations on an absolute ideal of right and wrong, able and not able, etc...but for me context is always contingent and there are always additional framing factors. So as you said, women have a history of domestic violence being used against them - and in my opinion that colours every instance of a man raising his hand to his wife. It may SEEM like it's only something between those two individuals, justified or not justified by the situation. It may seem like an impulsive emotional reaction. But what gives men psychological permission to strike women? Cultural legacies and social conditioning. Conditioning that I hate to see perpetuated.
So when Abhi slapped Pragya "because she lied to him" about his confession - he had the weight of masculine culture behind him. Which Pragya will never have, no matter who she's slapping.
The way the serial is set up, Abhi has every card in the deck stacked in his favour. If people are trying to cheat him, or if he's bad at strategy, or a rogue wind blows away his royal flush - that is difficult, but it's life. And Abhi can rise to the challenge anyway. So yes, it matters how the person with the most advantages uses them.
