If only this is the current track of KKB. Seems much interesting and well planned between Pragya, Dadi and surprisingly, Nikhil. But, the writer chose to drag and drag the current sequence. Hats off to you dear for this SS. Surely you would make a better writer than the one penning the current track of KKB. Keep on writing. I'm eagerly waiting for those brilliant ideas from you. Lots of love from Malaysia.❤️❤️❤️

Goodness me! This is absolutely fantastic! KKB writers, please take note. God deliver us from manipulative people like Tanu, the world's a better place without the likes of them.

Chapter 5

Abhi hurried through his morning routine and made his way downstairs. The normal process which had habituated within the last few days was disrupted today, in a way that almost made him happy. Pragya stood next to Dadi, serving her food, almost as if nothing had changed in the last few months. However, this lovely image soon turned sour, as Abhi regarded Nikhil who sat next to Dadi, in his seat too mind you, and was next to be served by Pragya.

"There isn't any need for you to do this," Nikhil admonished gently, pulling her into the seat next to him, and serving her food. "I told you to take care of yourself, and that means eating on time."

"You coddle me too much," Pragya whined childishly, a happy smile on her face. Abhi's heart dropped at the tender scene, and in his mind he scrambled to find an instance where something like that had happened between them.

Inwardly he grimaced. He couldn't think of a moment he had taken care of his wife in the way this stranger was taking care of her now. For the better part of his marriage he had been dead set on torturing her; and when the time came for him to fulfill his responsibilities as a husband, something he had been more than glad to uptake, the issue with Tanu arose.

He made his way towards the dining room, and somberly sat down next to Tanu, who was picking at her food. Irritation bubbled within him, seeing her disregard for her own diet.

"Tanu, you should be eating more," he calmly explained, pushing more food onto her plate. He missed the flash of pain that came across Pragya's face, before it cleared up again. Tanu pushed the food back towards him and pouted.

"Abhi, I don't feel like eating," she whined in a high pitch. "As it is I will gain weight, I need to put it off for as long as I can."

Disbelief and anger welled up in him. She would jeopardize the health of the baby, only for the sake of her vanity and looks?

"Tanu," Nikhil's voice piped up, catching Abhi off guard. "You should be eating more, Abhi is right. It wouldn't be good to deny the baby sustenance, right?"

A silence settled between the two, and Abhi regarded the heavy gaze Nikhil had on Tanu, who held his gaze for as long as she dared before dropped her head and beginning to eat. The exchange unsettled him, especially as Pragya turned towards Nikhil with a bright smile when he resumed eating.

"It's getting late," she nudged him, "It'll almost be time to go to the office."

Nikhil cleared his throat, swallowing the last of his tea before beginning to answer.

"Actually-"

"Sir! Didi!"

A hysterical male voice shouted. A dishevelled young man wearing spectacles propelled into the room, a bag on his shoulder and binders in his arms. He was closely followed by a panting Robin, who had apparently run to catch up with him. Comical tears welled up in his eyes at the sight of Pragya and Nikhil, as the rest of the family stared at the newcomer in curiosity.

"Thank the heavens," the young man sobbed, falling onto his knees and clasping his hands in prayer. "Thank you for keeping my Sir and Didi safe and sound."

Nikhil dropped his face into one of his hands, before peeking over and staring at the young man in amusement. Pragya got up and walked over.

"Ronnie," she admonished, pulling him up and beginning to straighten him out. "What is this? What have you done to yourself, is this any way to behave?"

"Didi you don't know what I have gone through," he sobbed, pushing his glasses up on his face. "I spent all night trying to contact you, and I couldn't get through. I feared the worst had happened, but thankfully I found you both to be here!"

He finished his explanation with a set of sniffles, wiping at his eyes. Pragya looked over at Nikhil, who chuckled in amusement.

"Ronnie," Nikhil admonished gently, "Do you not have faith in me? I would take care of your Didi come what may, nobody would be able to stop be from that."

Ronnie regarded Nikhil with stars in his eyes and nodded. "Yes, of course sir!"

Nikhil shook his head in amusement.

"Hello, hey, hi." Abhi spoke up, regarding the new man. "We aren't running a hotel in which everyone can barge in, who are you?"

Ronnie straightened up and puffed out his chest proudly.

"My name is Ronnie, Mr. Mehra. I am Mr. Nikhil and Didi's, I mean Madam's, personal assistant!" he declared with pride.

Abhi snorted in disbelief. How could his property manager have an assistant, in fact why did he need an assistant.

"You're clearly being paid too much for your position if you have money to waste with an assistant," Abhi quipped, shooting a sharp glare towards Nikhil, who glared right back.

Ronnie opened his mouth to speak in defense, but quieted seeing Pragya's expression. "Ronnie, come with me," she commanded. "We need to have some of our things shifted here, we will be staying for a little bit. You also need to get Nikhil's files ready for today, he'll be leaving for the office in a little bit, as soon as I get his lunch ready."

She walked away from the dining room, confidence in her every step with Ronnie trailing behind her like an eager puppy. The ease in which to walked around the mansion lightened Abhi's heart. Maybe deep down, she remembered her old home, and now it was a matter of making her consciously remember that. Something about what she said sparked his curiosity, and he turned towards Nikhil, who was pulling on his jacket.

"She said that your things will be shifted into the mansion, meaning she knows she will be staying with us. What did you tell her?" he questioned.

Nikhil ignored him for a bit as he straightened his jacket, then turned to address him.

"I told her that for business reasons that we would have to stay with you for a little bit. She was not happy, especially after the debacle that you made yesterday. However, I explained that to her and she understood," Nikhil explained calmly.

Something was suspicious in the tone that Nikhil had addressed him with, and Abhi narrowed his eyes.

"What exactly did you tell her," he demanded.

Nikhil chortled, "Only that you were unbelievably drunk and thought that she was your beloved. Let me tell you, she does not approve of your excessive drinking habits."

Abhi's jaw dropped at the insult to his character, and he rose up to argue with the man. Tanu's vice grip on his sleeve kept him stationery, and with almost a begging expression she urged him not to fight.

"Abhi why are you unnecessarily causing yourself tension with them," she asked, pale in the face. He gently shook her off, and followed Nikhil who had made his way across the threshold, towards the entrance.

Pragya met him with a smile and he offered him a very large tiffin. Nikhil took it from her with a smile.

"Pari, you have made enough food for an army!" he chuckled, pretending to struggle underneath the weight of the tiffin. Abhi's heart dropped as he once again felt like an outsider peering into a private moment.

"You can have it with Ronnie," she said, "And make sure to eat on time, you always get distracted when working. Your health is just as important as mine."

Nikhil understood the silent message. To be safe, and to take care of himself as he essentially went into Aliya's terrorist, the office, by himself.

"Of course, and make sure to do the same," he answered. "I'm sure there is a lot of work for you to be busy with today, I'll see you in the evening ok?"

"I'll come with you," Abhi blurted, suddenly feeling the need to one up the man, and what better way than in his own office. "We'll take the driver to the office. Together."

The finality in his words made Pragya's eyes shoot up, especially when Nikhil sent a pleading look towards her. She chuckled as he got dragged off by her beloved, and turned to survey the mansion. A smirk playing on her lips. It was time to divide and conquer.

xXx

Aliya paced the length of her room, furiously trying to make sense of what was happening in her house. Something was not sitting well with her, and between the return of Pragya and the coming of Nikhil, her carefully laid plans looked to be ruined. She furiously flung herself on her bed, combing her fingers through her hair.

Was it really possible for Pragya to have lost her memory?

Or was this some elaborate ruse?

Was that behenji even capable of thinking of something like this?

And if not her, what was the purpose of Nikhil bringing her here? For revenge, or to blackmail Tanu and in conjunction, her?

The thoughts caused her to whip a pillow across her room. It hit the door and it creaked open, surprising Pragya who was on the other side. Aliya regarded her suspiciously.

"I'm sorry. Actually I was looking around, I didn't know it this was your room," Pragya babble nervously, cautiously stepping back. "You're Aliya, aren't you?"

Aliya's eyes narrowed, deciding it was time to test if this memory loss thing was real or not.

"Yes!" she smiled brightly. "It's ok, come in. Sorry, I was thinking of something!"

Pragya smirked inwardly, and crossed into the bedroom. "Boy's on your mind?" she questioned, gracefully sitting next to Aliya.

The young woman was thrown for a loop, and regarded to long haired beauty who was looking around curiously.

"What makes you say that?" she questioned.

Pragya chuckled. "Actually I get angry sometimes when I get into tiffs with Nikhil, you looked like I did. Is it because your boyfriend was ignoring you last night?"

"My...boyfriend?" Aliya questioned uncertainly.

"The young man with the beard," Pragya offered helpfully.

"Purab?" Aliya offered, unsure of what was going through the women's mind. "What makes you think he's my boyfriend?"

Pragya huffed. "Don't think you're fooling anyone. The way you look at him is the way someone looks at their loved one. Tell me, did you get into a fight? If so let's talk maybe I can help."

Aliya was flabbergasted, but saw this as an opportunity in the making. She schooled her face into a sad expression.

"Actually he was mine," she offered sadly, gloating in seeing Pragya's sympathetic look, "But something happened and now we aren't together anymore."

"Go on," Pragya prompted.

"Actually that other girl that was here, Bulbul, she stole Purab from me. She caused a lot of misunderstandings between us, and I didn't find out until it was too late. I thought she was just Purab's friend but in reality she wanted him to herself. And he won't believe what I say," she cried, allowing some real sadness into her rant. "I know on some level he still cares for me, but she has such a hold on him he can't be reasoned with!"

Pragya patted her shoulder comfortingly. "You poor thing," she soothed. "It'll be ok, you just have to make him see reason."

Aliya regarded her in shock. "Are you saying?" Pragya nodded. "We have to make him realize why he loves you, and I'll help you with that."

"Seriously?" Aliya questioned in disbelief, happiness springing into her heart when Pragya nodded. She allowed herself to be taken into a hug, and smirked victoriously. You are done for Bulbul, what will you do against your beloved Pragya di? Aliya thought viciously. Purab, it looks like you'll be mine after all. All her previous suspicions about Pragya flew out the window at the opportunity to have Purab to herself. It also settled those suspicions, because there was no way that the normal behenji would go against her own sister.

Pragya smiled to herself as she stroked Aliya's hair. Hook, line and sinker. This is the beginning of the end Aliya.
