Daadi and Pragya: Mixed feelings

Daadi and Pragya have teamed up to take Tannu out of Abhi's life and to expose Aaliyah. They want to protect Abhi.

It's more like Daadi is the mastermind of this venture and Pragya is the executor. And in the last two episodes we were told how this came about.

First of all, it does not make sense 1. why they need this elaborate plan and 2. why they need to not only keep Abhi in the dark but make him feel Pragya betrayed him.

Tannu issue: It is known to them now that Abhi is not the father of Tannu's child. And the proof is right in front of them. All they need is Tannu's DNA and Abhi's. Abhi has expressed with Pragya that he loves her and wants a life with her. He has also told he doesn't want to marry Tannu and he won't be happy with that. Moreover he had also expressed his disbelief in the conception of that baby and claimed that it is a mistake that happened without his knowledge. All this only says Abhi is not looking forward to marry Tannu at all and does not feel right about it. If he is told Tannu's baby is not his, why wouldn't he co-operate? An easier way out would be to tell Abhi or even to obtain Tannu's samples using a doctor/routine check up if they can't do this the straight forward way.

Aaliyah issue: Aaliyah is Daadi's granddaughter. It is a bit disappointing that Daadi is plotting against Aaliyah this way- although Aaliyah doesn't deserve any better for the evil acts she has done. Again, keeping Abhi out of the loop does not make sense either. He is the one who possibly spoiled Aaliyah but he is also the one who exposed her notorious acts several times. Daadi and Pragya were the ones to stop him from taking strict actions against Aaliyah but now Daadi wants to take action keeping Abhi out.

Does Daadi want to redeem Aaliyah and make her understand her wrongs? While this sounds a positive possibility, it feels like Daadi and Pragya aren't fully aware of Aaliyah's evil capabilities. They do not know she is the mastermind of kidnapping, framing Purvi, acid attack and previous murder attempts on Bulbul. I wonder if Daadi really knows Aaliyah is the one to frame Pragya in MMS scandal.

Moreover, Aaliyah has Raj's support, which Daadi and Pragya are unaware of. So, overall, it seems like they do not know the depths of waters they have jumped into.

Abhi: Taaliyah's whole target here is Abhi's wealth and fame. It is weird that Abhi himself is kept unaware of things while the women are taking up this mission to protect his wealth and fame by making him believe he has lost his wealth to Pragya because of her fraud. On one hand he has lost his wealth and on the other hand his Fuggy isn't with him anymore. This would make him sad as well as it can make them rebel against Pragya. He may not hate Pragya because he believes in his love, but he might to things to foil Pragya's plans in order to break her so that he gets his Fuggy back.

Is it a good strategy by Daadi? We have to wait and see.

However there was one thing I really liked about this Daadi-Pragya interaction.

Daadi asked Pragya to not cry and be strong. She asked her to show Tannu and Aaliyah their places. This is something Pragya should have done a long time ago. She ignored and forgave Tannu and Aaliyah's terrible mistakes all along by not giving herself any importance. But at least now, she is going to tackle them even though it is for Daadi and Abhi. I would have liked Pragya being proactive about it herself to claim her rights and love, but at least this.

Daadi wanted a bahu to set Abhi right. Not that a wife should fix all her husband's problems but a marriage is also about husband-wife standing up for each other, enriching each other in a progressive manner. Abhi has several times saved Pragya from troubles, stood by her (KB hall, kidnap etc.) and given her moral boosts. Pragya could also do the same for him here by helping him get through this big deception Taaliyah have planned against him.

So, if all this is finally to bring about a stronger Pragya and enable the exits of at least some evil forces from Abhi-Pragya's lives, it is a welcome track. It is unfair on Abhi, but Abhi seems to be doing his own things to get to the truth and we can wish him success on that. Let's just hope Abhi and Pragya do not end up working against each other but ultimately fight it together to emerge as winners.

What I loved

Dadi asking Pragya to be strong and take revenge for her husband.
Yes !! REVENGE ..I want it too
She told Pragya to make the witches cry
Yes , please !!

What I hated

Dadi asking Pragya to do things for abhi , calling Pragya an escapist.
I don't like what dadi talked to Pragya in the fb.
She is his wife not his bodyguard. More over husband and wife should support and work together not so stupid dramas.

I don't like dadi huge expectations on Pragya.?i felt it selfish .

And so Tia ..I too have some mixed feelings

In TV land specially EK land its all about women power. Shows are focused on the heroine , the story is made for her. Her strengths , weakness , victories , losses , tears build a connection with the audience which has been proved over the last 10-15 yrs.

It is important for the CVs to go in for the tried and tested path to make their show commercially successful. Most of the times , the audience does not bother much about the male lead being happy or sad.

Unfortunately the heroine is always expected to be a Sita /Parvati/Savitri ,whether the male lead deserves this or not is immaterial.

That's the main reason for this track and will be for subsequent tracks too.

Women centered stories are the tried, proven, and lucrative format for tv serials. In fact, I felt KKB deviated from the norm by having a very popular rock start as a male lead. There's almost equal importance for both female and male leads. Maybe this track will focus on Pragya more??

I have a hard time deciding if KB focusses on Abhi or Pragya! It's all about Pragya's sacrificing ways for Abhi... I mean even now, whatever she is doing is for Abhi..

She does a lot, but it's for Abhi.

I guess it focusses on both that way.

I did find Pragya in PraNu track (pregnancy track pre-changed Pragya) way too obsessed with her Tannu/Tannu baby duty that she forgot everything else and even forgot Tannu could be evil.

So I actually liked Daadi telling her she was walking away from Abhi..(Daadi's context was wrong and different, but I liked it.. that it was told).

@Cerealgirl. This is Pragya's story. She is the one from day 1 on the Montage of this show. Things are always from her POV. All characters in the story including Abhi revolve around the character Pragya.

Also even if we check the amount of screenspace since the beginning of the show (I have watched all episodes on TV) , on an average she gets 20% more screenspace than Abhi.

This is Pragya's Kumkum Bhagya. That's the show's name na. It is about Pragya's married life , she wears Kumkum .

The core audience will not watch a hero centric daily soap, its not CID or Adalat.

Pragya may do stuff for her hubby , because he is her Kumkum Bhagya , not for Abhi as an independent entity.

I don't feel it is right to talk about abhi and Pragya importance and the story .
Tisha have equal roles in luring audience.

Abhi / shabir is loved by many.his popularity is used by zee and they are taking him to different countries.

Regarding the story from the day Pragya got married till today abhigya had equal importance in the show.he was always saving her when she lost.she was always trying to save her kumkum and unknowingly he was with her saving it.

Since women watch serials its all done in the female point of view because we would connect to it better .

I dint watch many shows but I watched is pyar before KB and the show had to shut down because the hero wanted to leave it. Though heroine was popular too but the story needed both.
Abhigya are the same too..

This is abhigya love story not a saas babu soap where the heroines priotise on being a good bahu and avoiding her husband.
Here Pragya only priority is abhi..

the show was marketed as a passionate love story by Ekta not as Pragya kumkum Bhagya 😆so many dramas were handled by abhi..they were so much imp for the story..
Like mms exposing , Aaliya bride swap ..
