Abhigya Drabble: Selfless

Scenario: Pragya has managed to finally kick Taliyah out from her life (for now) and Abhigya have united. Their wedding is coming up soon and their families have decided to surprise them so they've sent the two out on a date. Abhigya are strolling around, shopping:

Pragya: Look, they're selling Gulab Jamuns there! *points in the direction of vendor selling, there's a long line there*

Abhi: I'll go buy some for us, there's a long line so just wait here. *goes off to buy sweets. After some time, comes back*

Pragya: Yay! You're back! How many did you buy?

Abhi: As many as they had left-

Pragya: What?!

Abhi: There was only three more left...

Pragya: That's fine! They're nice and warm and they smell incredible! *smiling, very happy, her smile making Abhi's heart do a little flip*

Abhi: If I could, I'd buy thousands for you, but-

Pragya: *laughing* If you made me eat all that, I'd truly become a 'fuggy'! Don't worry about it- I'll have one and you can have two-

Abhi: No!

Pragya: Fine- we can share the last one! Ab khush? (Now are you happy?)

Abhi: Ok...

Both eat, enjoying each other's company.

Pragya: Let me split the last one-

Abhi: No! I don't trust you- you'll give me the bigger piece-

Pragya: I'll half it- equally! Trust me!

Abhi: Fine. *gives Pragya the last Gulab Jamun to half and watches her. Notes how Pragya doesn't half it properly and gives him the bigger half, pretending she had split it equally. Pragya quickly takes a bite out of her 'half'*

Abhi: Fuggy, why are you always so selfless?

Pragya: *surprised* That's-

Abhi: You never think about your happiness and that worries me.

Pragya: *blushing* You're nice too-

Abhi: No, this time, we're just going to talk about you. Why are you always so selfless? What about your happiness?

Pragya: *thinks for a while* Seeing the people I love the most happy is my happiness. I don't know why that is but it just is. I could not be happy knowing the people I care so much for are in any sort of pain... *blushing, feels shy talking about herself* What about you? You're also very selfless, you always make sure everyone is happy, you understand their sadness, their happiness...

Abhi: *looks at his shy Fuggy endearingly* I wasn't always like this- you made me this way. Plus, I'm definitely not as selfless as you are. In fact, in some regards, I've become even more selfish than before.

Pragya: *confused* What do you mean?

Abhi: The only thing I want is for you to be happy. I could do anything to protect your smile- everything except giving you away. I can't live without you and I'm not willing to let you go for anyone or anything. You are my happiness Fuggy and unlike you, I'm not willing to sacrifice my happiness.

Pragya: *blushing* Aap- *Abhi quickly feeds his half of the Gulab Jamun to Pragya before she can speak, she mumbles something in protest*

Abhi: I know you love Gulab Jamuns yet you wanted me to have the bigger piece! Shame on you- you said you'd half it equally'! Seriously Fuggy, you eating or me eating- same thing, right? *smiles* Pragya, they're selling pani puri over there! Let's go! *holds her hand and drags her towards the stall*

Pragya, giving in, enjoys her sweet and smiles to herself, looking at Abhi, thinks to herself: I'm not 'selfless', I'm just truly happy.When I have the person I love the most beside me, giving up everything else doesn't affect me at all. I don't need anything else but you.
