I was totally underwhelmed. The whole thing feels slapped together quickly to accommodate vacation schedules.

More than that, I have serious qualms about this love. I respect that others believe it to be true, but it's just weird. Abhi seems to gravitate to whichever woman does his bidding best. It used to be Tanu. Now it's Pragya. Convenient how his "love" shifted similarly. What happens when Pragya makes demands and another woman who won't enters the picture? My point isn't another woman will enter the picture but rather that this makes Abhi's love look fickle.

I want Pragya to get total amnesia and leave this family for a while. They're all pretty awful, even the elders. So is her own family. The only decent person is the uncle who never talks. And Robin. And Ro-Daadi. Maybe she can go live with them. 😆

I agree that it seemed sudden, which is kind of funny to say given we've waited so long, but the development just wasn't there as you said. And personally, I don't believe in Abhi's love. Maybe when or if he can ever be less me-me-me I can take his declaration seriously. I don't want to believe this is the CV's take on Abhi in true love because it looks all hollow to me.

This sounds to me like Pragya's interpretation of Tannu. Not weighing the realities and odds but just going by superficial.

I disagree with you.

First of all, Abhi was shown to have strong feelings for Pragya even before he realized he is in love with her. He had his own issues to come to believe his love for her- Tannu, the MU of the marriage it was etc.. Please do elaborate on particular scenes, I'm struggling to pinpoint actual scenes where he was sure he loved Pragya. He was shown to be possessive sometimes, yes. There were many eyelocks, but it never actually proved his love for her, just he cared for her. There were scenes where he compared Pragya to Tanu's, he even asked her to be like Pragya, but there aren't many scenes that stick out for me unfortunately.

But if you notice his actions, he is never able to let go of her even when he hated her, when he wanted to kick her out of his house. All that was unrealized seeds of love. I agree his actions were the only thing that proved to us as viewers that he lived her unconsciously, but it was never his words, not even a monologue.

And then he realizes, but stops short of confessing because she makes it a joke. After that, he figures out she is lying because of Tannu. He basically knows she loves him.. not that he does not want to tell her but the situation is focussed more on PraNu plans and Daadi tantrums. She only makes it a joke because she can't stand the fact that he is not with his so called love of his life. She thinks he loves Tanu bcos he hasn't told her otherwise. She thinks she's denying his baby a father. If it wasn't for her, Tanu would be married to him. Remember he has always told her that he loves Tanu. He has always made no pretense of this fact so she is convinced that he wants to be with Tanu.

And now, Daadi knows about Tabhi problem and if you remember, Abhi told Tannu a day before that he will decide about divorce/abortion the next day. He perhaps decided to go with Pragya. We have never been shown that Pragya was his choice. When was his decision made? How did he take the decision? I think this is such an important thing, yet the cvs never showed us this. It was a moment of realization. It finally dawned on him that Pragya is his love, but we as the viewers were left out of this turning point.

And all those AbhiGya angst we saw all these days was because he was in love and didn't know what to do about it. I think the angst was mostly due to Dadi's health and her reaction. The person who was nearest and dearest to him, whom he considered his mother, who loved him the most and whom he loved the most had lost her trust in him. He was ashamed of having betrayed his Dadi. He couldn't deal with the pain and agony or his embarrassment. He had let his Dadi down.

And now he has confessed. The accident joke at the concert, Pragya saving him from stones were emotional moments and he finally decided to cut the deal. I'm sorry but I think this part was most far-fetched. As someone else pointed out in another post, he could've also asked Akash to check if the msg was true. It just doesn't make sense especially since his first reaction was that it was a hoax. He could've apologized to the crowd and told them why he stopped.

I did not feel cheated or anything. But I do think this was needed to put Pragya in perspective where she realizes how she is breaking it all too while making Tabhi. All Pragya cares about is the baby getting its rightful name and Abhi being reunited with his love. She has no clue what she is doing. She doesn't see anything else. She is too blinded by being a good person and doing what she thinks is right. I think you also mentioned in a post that who says Tabhi need to be married for Abhi to take care of the baby?

There were several others ways to do this, there always are. But I am sure there is some hidden drama that will unfold as TaBhi marriage might come in near future.

One of the reasons for the rush became clear today. His confession had to happen so that Pragya could use their love in convincing him to do the adult thing and agree to a divorce for the sake of the baby. And it had to be verbalized so that the audience would understand why he would agree to what she wanted.

Very adult thing to marry a woman you do not love and accept a baby you think is a mistake.. and then who will be responsible if divorce and custody battles happen? And if the baby ends up suffering?

Still hope Abhi will not agree to this nonsense really.. and does not honor this promise he made to Pragya.

You're talking American. This show is talking Indian. The values aren't the same. Abortion, unwed mothers, adult children handling their own business - that isn't what this show is about. It's above all about family values. So yes, in that realm, stepping up for your child is the adult thing to do. Pretending the baby doesn't exist so you can romance your lover is not.

Abhi was never shown to be the traditional valued Indian male anyway, he had relationships before marriage, nor did he honor marriage as something sacred, or traditional rituals in that sense. He had his differences with Daadi (she does not appreciate many things he stands up for, for examples his genre of music) too on traditional values. He does try to please Daadi but he lives his life too.

Pragya might have other values, but she did not take up Rachna cause to unite her with Aakash until he himself wanted to at a later point (and Pragya's motivation was Daadi's hatred). I am not even sure what Pragya stands for really.

I don't see any justification in Pragya trying to use Abhi's emotions for her and take promises to make him marry a woman he does not want to, when he is claiming he won't be happy- more so when he is saying the baby happened in a drunk state which he did not plan or intend to.

Tannu's survival or motherhood does not depend on Abhi. She can earn and have that baby or not have it as per her wishes. She is from the showbiz world where the culture is way more westernized than regular Indian lives.

I feel the soap shows elders bent on old school values.. and younger ones struggling with it, some revolting, some suffering.

I have no issues at all with Pragya not wanting to be with Abhi because she will feel guilty about Tannu's baby. That just shows how much she cares for Abhi vs. her own principles. But asking him to marry Tannu if he loves her is plain ridiculous.

Like I said I hope Abhi does not take these kasams too seriously.

Nicely said Aessop. It's not about Abhi or Pragya. They're both complicated characters with a lot of baggage from their past. I just feel the timing of the confession scenes was very unexpected and hurried. It looked like the writers came up with this idea last minute to start a new track (amnesia or whatever).
